Pilots often look for a specific altitude from which they know they can safely recover from a vertical manoeuvre.

I’ve just got back from the Shoreham Airshow, it’s been a truly shocking day. From what I saw, the pilot must have attempted the loop at too low an altitude. The aircraft then seemed to stall as it fell below the tree line (pilot possibly pulling to hard on the stick attempting to recover). I know in the past pilots have not correctly set their altimeter’s pressure setting, resulting in false altitude readings.

Ok, thanks a lot guys. I shall properly forget the speakers then, but any other ideas on the design of the aircraft or features?

Hope this is the sort of thing you are looking for! Great aircraft choice, my favourite plane!

So true, forgot about that, going back to the roots of aviation. 🙂

Sorry, by sound system I meant Speakers with a recorded message, example, ‘trespassers warning’ (for civilian use). Wingspan will be between 2 & 1.5 metres.

Well, thank you all very much, it is much appreciated! 😀 I will put another of my grandfather’s drawings up soon!

Interesting, TSR2 wasn’t thought of until 1956 (because of the need to replace the Canberra) and I agree it does like very similar to the SR53. 😎 I believe the starfighter first flew in 1954

The Wright brother’s flyer used adaptive wings. Just like a bird. The quest for this superior wing, started at the very beginning.

NASA i believe tested it on an F-18.

Yes, I had forgot that, the simplest form of adaptive wing was used in the first controled flight of a plane! Now all we need to do is bring that idea into the 21st century.

Well it seems I have found something of high interest in the aviation world. Also I haven’t had much criticism of my plane design :D, yet. I agree in that a few ‘pre-programmed’ wing positions could be used (like flap settings), but some sort of computer would probably have to be used to make minor adjustments. Once again thanks for all your help, time to start a model I think!

Seems Reagan’s SDI ‘Star Wars’ idea is coming true. In the 1980’s, Reagan wanted way to destroy incoming nukes. He started the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). At the time it was impossible and never had any success. It was just a way to get at the USSR. 😀

For me, no other plane can compete with the TSR2, beautiful, fast and way ahead of it’s time. 😎
