I agree with Lindsey Buckingham saw him live with Fleetwood Mac it was a amazing gig especially when he played “Big Love” completely Solo yes for sure he is underated, As to Peter Green i think most people know he is a legend and should not be underated at all, Its worth remembering Fleetwood Mac, really started as a rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie( a very underated Bass Player in my view), I think its amazing how Fleetwood mac have changed over the years from Blues to i guess Middle of the road rock.
I think i would add Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora and Aerosmiths Joe Perry to the list as they do not get that much credit really, I also consider Joe Walsh of the Eagles a Legend.

duxfordhawkSaturday 11th June will see the second (annual) open day at HFL and ARC.
Last year’s event was superb and this year appears to be the new improved version with the chance to sit in the coxkpit of a Spit and one of the historic jets that they operate. One lucky visitor will get a flight in the T6.
An airshow by a number of the ARC operated a/c, lunch and a chance to catch up on the progress of the Blenheim rebuild at close quarters are also on the programme.
I recall some lively debate over last years £55 entry price. This year it will be £75.
Firstly who’s going (So I know who to look out for) and second whether you are going or not, what would you expect to get for £75?
Personally i would love to go but i could not justify spending £75 on a day trip sadly, I think overall its a great thing that its possible to do such events and the money clearly helps the Aircraft fly so its a worthy cause.
duxfordhawkI agree its terrible they are still showing this footage and they should be stopped its morally wrong when it has nothing to do with whats happening at this current time.
I do not have Sky at all and feel they are too large for their own good and are able to get away with such things, I understand after a accident has happened it is news but near 2 years later its not anymore.
Its not only sky who have done this i remember GMTV used to show Hoof Proudfoots Lightning crash on there advertisments for the show, I found it awful at the time as it was first accident i had experenced first hand and was having nightmares about it.
Trouble when a Airshow accident happens its normally sickenly spectactular and in our modern news days thats what they want to show us or maybe what people want to see.

duxfordhawkStill think its wrong to profit from any photo’s of her and certainly was shocked when heard that photo’s were of the wreakage etc( I am assuming these were very similar if not the same as the ones the press had), I agree with Robbo its good he amended the Auction and did not think when first posted them.
It was a tragic event that is still very much in my mind especailly when i am attending Airshows,We should not forget what happened but we should also not sell photos of it.

Its really a tongue in cheek event and a bit of fun from a British point of view, And we all know it would not matter who we put through to sing for us they will not win, Nor does it matter because in recent years even winning it gets you nowhere it seems.
As to Terry Wogan well a tongue in cheek event needs a tongue in cheek presenter, Sarcasm still raises a smile or two and is very much part of British humour, So maybe its outdated and baised but show is the whole of Eurovision.

I am just wondering when we will get some real British TV programes instead of this so called reality TV shows, Which either have C or D list celebrities or the lowest form of inteligent life wannabe’s that you can find anywhere(Its a big Barrel but they seem be able to scrape the bottom of it with ease), As i see it Somehow seeing “ordinary” people trying to be famous is sad and pathetic really and its worse when its C list stars trying to find some sort of fame.
Its about time we had some proper shows for a change, The likes of Spooks,Hustle,Doctor Who and Casanova on the BBC have shown we can still do great drama and thats the way things should be heading not the way ITV goes showing the rubbish they do. Also more documentries for a change too would be a nice change.

duxfordhawkDon Bullock attempted the same manouvre on take off at Mildenhall Air Fete the previous May, as he attempted to barrel roll he changed his mind and managed to pull it into a climbing turn, the commentator went very quiet then made some comment to the effect of ‘He shouldn’t have tried that’.
My heart always used to sink when I knew he was going to display, especially with respect to Sally B, which caused an eventual ban at Duxford I recall. Always feared the worst would happen eventually.
As i always have thought it was a accident waiting to happen and a dark day in Biggin Hill’s and Airshow history, I never really understood why he was still allowed to fly despite many people having worries about his display, I read he wanted to practice the display but for some reason organisers were unable to accomodate his request, I know the rest is history but make you wonder if he had practiced would a less people have lost there lives.
The suicidal thing seems unlikely to me as others have said why kill others with you?, Its more lightly the fact that it was pilot showing off and not thinking of consquences, Other photo’s posted on different threads have shown how he displayed Sally B, seems to me he thought a accident would not happen to him and that he could almost walk on water.
As i see it this was a watershed in Airshow history as ment a lot of rules were changed after it happened, The best thing to do with it now is consign it to history where it belongs and hope such a thing never happens again anywhere.

Regarding the Tummelisa; yes he still flies the Tummelisa. We visited Mikael
in April this year, to take still photos and to film Mikael for our film project.
One of the items on our agenda for that day was to take photos of

has become bolder in his flying during the later years! On the other hand,
those how know Mikael or those having heard him talk about his flying realise
that he knows his business, and that he has good judgement when it comes

Welcome to the forum.
I see Mikael is booked with the Tummelisa and Bleriot for Biggin Hill this year too, I myself can not wait.
The Bleriot display was great but i personally thought the Tummelisa display was even more amazing, Its a great little replica with a REAL Rotary engine. The very type of Aircraft you would expect to be flown sedately but Mikael does much more than that with her.
