Can’t help thouigh thinking back to the days when the Mosquito used to sit quietly on the Fighter Pan at the N Weald Fighter Meets waiting its turn to display. How lucky we were then.

I could not agree more Moggy i remember the North weald days i have some photos of RR299 on the pan at North weald somewhere maybe try and dig them and the scanner out sometime.

Its wonderful to see a Mossie in the sunshine i still dream of the day when a Mossie rises to the skies again.

I like him and always liked his passion for food, he has made cooking more intresting for sure.
He has to be commended for what he is doing with school dinners he has got everybody thinking on this now and the government had to listen, Perfect timing before a General election too, I ideal time to change things for the kids, Hard to ignore him when you want votes i thinkHe is a top Geezer in my view.

I went to Belarus last year to visit some girl, I think she was called Lena:dev2: Just kidding honest!

Why did the other two engagements fail? Wasn’t because your were writing to other Women was it? 🙂

The first two engagements failing had nothing to do with Lena, Both knew i wrote to Lena and at that time i never saw Lena as anymore than a friend, I have lot female friends and do not see such a problem with that.
As with most things there were many reasons why things happened and why we drifted apart as it were and at the end of the day everyone and no one is to blame
To be honest the reason for the break ups matter less now and i wish both Ex’s well, There were reasons at the time that are best left at that time.

Its been so nice to find someone as special as Lena and funny to think she had been there all the time really.

Like your humour saying you met a Lena last year when you went Belarus its a common name in the former Soviet Union so you would not need look to hard to find one, As to my Lena theres only one and shes the best one you could ever meet,Ok maybe im soppy but what the hell i do love her.

Thanks for the year correction all – don’t think I can alter the title of the thread but I will try! so much for my enthusiastic record keeping. I proably started to put dates on 5+ years down the line.

It does not deter in anyway from what is a great thread and for me it brings back some great memories.
Biggins organisers have so often been able to put on a great display with something special and often unique for the fans.

I was hoping to see 2 mossie’s and a Blenheim in the air that day. I think a week or so later we were done to just one Mossie.

I remember seeing both Mossie’s and Blenhiem fly i believe the day before the show, I lived in New Addington at the time so it was quiet a event before any Biggin Airshow and many Aircraft would fly over the Estate and the schools in the Estates.

I am puzzled by one thing i swore it was 1987 the Blenhiem flew and was sadly wrecked around a month later at Denham when it crash landed on the Golf course.
These are fantastic photo’s by the way and i would love to see more from Biggin in particular as well as any other classic shows.

Could have been, but wasn’t.

The restoration was not done to airworthy standard, nor was it ever intended that it would fly again.

I was thinking that, And lets be honest there are plenty of P51s flying both here and in the USA so for once i can say i am glad to see one in the museum.
