Its not so much speed that kills is more not being able to control vehicle at speed that kills.
Maybe its fairer to say that stopping suddenly and and unexpectedly kills.

I think it is impossible to choose the best commedian Peter Cook is a legend but without Dudley Moore he would have been not so good, I personally think Ronnie Barker is the best you look at all the diffrerent characters he has played Porridge, Open all hours etc they all classics, He is a true legend, Also he proved he did not need be part of a double act to be great,Although he was the funny one of the Two Ronnies.

I can honestly say i have been rained on at many airshows i have been to, And the weather has forced shows to end early etc but for me that is not led to that show being the worst just a disapointment.
Sadly i have witnessed four Airshow accidents in my time going to Airshows all of these count as my worst Airshow memories and therefore my worst airshows.
1) P-38 Lightning crash at Duxford 1996 i had become a huge fan of “Hoof” and loved the lightning i had never seen a accident before and it effected me badly “Hoofs” loss was huge to Aviation and to me also.

2)and 3)Biggin Hill 2001 we all know what happened at this show and without doubt it was my worst time at a airshow, I remember my excitement at seeing the Seavixen for the first time turn to horror when i realised the Vampire had stalled and was about to crash, Moments before she had taxied out from directly in front of us, I went on the sunday partly due to realising it be hard to go to another show with the memories of what happened on the saturday and partly because my sister still quiet wanted to go, My sister and i decide we would sign the condolence book after we watched the American Eagles part of the show with the Fighter collection warbirds, I realised the P-63 was having trouble when he lost height during earlier part of the show when she flew past for the last time i remember thinking it seemed slow then i think we all realised as pulled up into a loop that something had gone badly wrong as they say the rest is sadly history.

4) Flying Legends 2003 the Loss of the Firefly and its crew yet again this had a bad effect on me as i had grown up seeing the Firefly and was so glad to see her fly again she had looked great a Biggin Hill a month before and she had looked great, The loss of Bill and Neil was truelly awful.

I hope i never experence such accidents again

I quiet like the new version too, Its not a classic film by any means but it is quiet slick and fast moving and entertaining.
There are very few new ideas out there these days so its trendy to remake films, AT the moment its trendy to remake Michael Caine films (not a lotta people that) and of the 3 of his films that have been remade THe Italian job is the only one worth seeing in my view.
You will never beat the original it has a class of its own.

Not sure about the airshows, but Duxford falls victim to both vandals and component thieves. Someone took a Stanley knife to the SR-71 not so long ago, and Land Warfare is often having bits pinched off the vehicles for private owners with zero scruples.

Regular visitors; our MAs can’t be everywhere at once. If you see anyone acting suspiciously feel free to politely ask what it is they’re doing. If you’re concerned, find someone in red and white or wearing a coloured lanyard with a pass on it. All assistance much appreciated! I would like to think that our airshows are more secure with the levels of staffing and the pay-to-enter flightline, but I couldn’t say.

Levels of staffing help a awful lot i am sure of it, I think paying to go on flightline may help because vandals don’t tend to want spend money, What does p**s me off on flightline though is mobile phones and the odd person smoking(rare i know but i saw at Legends 2003) these things are more danger here than the idiot vandals.

It upsets me people steal from any collection it ruins things for everyone.

In the case of the isaacs spit and fury and plenty of other replicas ……..about as close as it brings a chav with a big bore on the back of his Nova to being an F1 driver.

I don’t really class the Issacs Spit or any other such Aircraft as replica’s they more representations of the real thing having some similar lines, They serve a purpose as great kit planes etc and obvoiusly give a lot of fun to the pilot so they do now harm in my view, I must admit i like like the Issac Spitfire but the Engine cowling area lets it down for me ruins the lines.

To me a replica should follow the original design as much as possible and a reproduction would follow the design almost to the letter but for modern safety items etc.
