I have not read everyones replies here so if i repeat anything i am sorry,I thought about this long and hard and have realised yes we are missing many types but not everything can be saved for one.

We should be proud the we have rarer things like swordfish(soon 3 will be flying),Ansons Lancaster,Blenhiem(awaiting repair but lightly to fly again),Lysander,Gladiator,we now have several Hurricanes which means there role in Battle of Britain is at last more reconised,We have more Spitfires now than we could image during the 1980s,we should be proud.

Now to Sally B and B17s in general without B17s and her little friends P47 and P51 we would not have been able to win the war so many American service men were lost in the fight for Europe,They are very much part of our history and heritage and should be remembered.

Now to other american types flying with OFMC or TFC,
P40, served with the RAF so is part of UK history
Corsair ,served with Fleet air arm
Mustang ,served as little friend and with RAF also
P39, evaluated by RAF never taken up but ultra rare now and we should be proud to see one fly.
    Wildcat,Served with UK yet again
    Hellcat,Fleet air arm flew them
Bearcat,Lucky we can see one flying but does not have UK history.
    Tigercat,rare and should be loved.

I could go on we should also remember the TFC will be putting a Gladiator,a Sea fury and Beaufighter in so our skies sometime in the future.
There are several other projects with British designs some will remain in the Uk such as Firefly and Tempest(i believe on is staying)and maybe we will get to see a Mossie fly sometime,We are doing ok in my view.

Now has anyone thought how few USA designed vintage jets we have flying on the Airshow scene?,Theres a whole new debate ,Remember we have the only flying F86a in the world and only other American designed jet i can think of is the T33.

I for one appreciate how lucky we are to have the BBMF every time the Lancaster turns up to an airshow.

I agree i always love to see BBMF and they hold a place in my heart,I think i comment more tommrow on this subject as i am tired and a little worse for wear.

My first Airshow that i really remember was Biggin Hill 1982 i remember as we arrived there was a B25 flying i do not know who owned it but remember it was in American markings,That day was also my first viewing of Sally B the TFC Bearcat and Ray Hanna in MH434(the first display i really remember)and not to forget the BBMF and RNHF who were also there.

Yes. But the glasses help and keep the dust out too.

To be fair, it seems to be a secret; the website isn’t telling. Last show was 22.50 for one adult in 1 car. Can’t comment on the rest as it wasn’t me.

    I read £18,50 somewhere?Beats me where though 😀

    Gents,

I am actually on vacation in New York City, and don’t have enough time to read the whole. BUT, as much as I condemn the death of so myny, I can’n nor won’t accept racist statements. I won’t either accept people to condemn the whole muslim world because of what some crazed individuals did.

    Racism is NOT tolerated here.

That said, and this goes to Comet’s comment in particular, I won’t moderate posts, as I havent read it all. I’ll let Flood do that, and zill ask you to remain correct. If not, I suggest this thread to be locked.

    I hope I was clear.

I do not racism has any part in these events or other terror attacks,There are evil in every nation and every creed and colour,I agree its wrong to be anti Muslim and feel stongly on that.
It is a form of Brain washing that creats such evil deeds and the world is getting worse with such attacks,I do not know what the answers nobody does i guess.

I read this thread last night.

I have been lucky in that a busy life has kept me away from seeing any TV for the last few days so I haven’t witnessed any of the live action shots.

I use words to earn my living, but words don’t always come easily, so I closed down the machine and lay in bed thinking of what I could possibly write.

Searching for some telling words that would have you all saying “That Moggy, he really does write some powerful stuff when he’s serious about a topic”

    I’ve failed.

    The words simply don’t exist.

Moggy i think we all feel the same no words can make this any better and take away that sick feeling.
God bless them and god help us all.

    John.

I think you’re right, we probably are headed for ‘…a new dark age, made more sinister and more protracted by the lights of perverted science.’ The problem is we don’t have a world leader of the calibre of Churchill to prevent this. Putin is incapable, reprisals will undoubtedly be made against Chechnya but it’s too late for the people of Beslan. Blair talks well but is toothless and Bush is unable to extricate himself from the wars he led America to victory in in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I just can’t see any end to it all.

    Regards,

    kev35

Totally agree Kev it is a new Dark age and we have no Leader.
We are dealing with a new kind of evil that not governed by any moral standards and will use any means to make their point heard and no lives mean anything to them,I fear where we go from here what what new horrors will happen.

And to think that someone somewhere interprets this as ‘freedom fighting’. It is indeed one f’ked up world. 🙁

Could not agree more Steve it leaves me feeling sick,Terrorism has taken new lows pure evil.

Kelly is a year older than me and I chucked the running 10 years ago. One of the best examples of athleticism, wit and spririt I’ve seen.

    Go girl go ! 😀

    I don’t even run for a bus now 😀
