Hunters and Meteors were but not Lightnings as far as I am aware.

I honestly feel without Jock and his team I would never have the love I have for airshows now. It was Jock Maitland who brought me the first magic moments of airshows in 1982 and seeing Ray Hanna fly MH434 for the first time.
Im pretty sure that Jock and Ray are sitting on a cloud now discussing those days. RIP Jock and thank you so much for the fond memories.

Whatever happened the main thing is nobody was harmed and the aircraft will fly again. Its not for us to judge anyway as the AAIB get paid to do that not us 😀 .
Whether it was pilot error or not the main thing is lessons will be learnt from it and both pilot and aircraft live to fly another day. Thats really all there is to discuss.

Its a crying shame so much is being made out the fact Kirsty Stewart is female,I really do not see how its an issue. She was in the team as a talented pilot and professional pilot. She served well in her time,brought a lot of enjoyment to huge amounts of people and was as good as the rest of the team in doing so.
I think more important is the fact that after the tragic loss of two pilots in a very short space of time and have still managed to carry on and be as strong as ever as a team. I wish Kirsty and the team the very best for the future and hope that things will get better for them this season.

The only truly fair way for this competition to be voted on would be if nobody knew what nationality the singer is or country they are representing. But obviously that would make it a talent competion and not Eurovision.

My wifes friend from Belarus votes every year on whatever song she likes(she not biased) and says as she comes from a country where votes are rigged its one way she can use her vote and it really be counted.

Im not really a fan of Eurovision so could not give a rats bottom who we send to lose again. But sending EH as long as he is fit enough to sing is a pretty inspired choice. Look at the publicity its getting and the talking on the internet on forums just like this one. Its all free advertising for a Competition and a BBC show that a lot of people would not bother to watch otherwise. Anyone over 60 will watch for nostalgic reasons anyone under 60 will watch to see what somebody of 75 looks like singing, this is proper freak show stuff here 😀

Realistically the UK will never win it due to political voting etc and I think this is why we do not really enter a decent established act each year, I think because we put our hands in to our pocket to fund the thing we can not be thrown out before the final so we are assured a place in the final even if we send David Cameron and Nick Clegg singing “I got you babe”
Also winning it means you need host it and obviously that costs so its rather better to enter and lose than enter and win, other than losing is a very British tradition we are great at it:D

I was really sad to hear he had passed away.Having grown up in the 70s and 80s when repeats of The Monkees TV show were a saturday morning treat, It has always felt to me that he was part of my childhood.
They were a far better band than they will ever get credit for, and where the original and arguably the best manufactured band for their time.

Davy and the rest of the band managed to put fun in to music and thats something sorely lacking these days.They all come over as pretty nice down to earth guys too. I turned down the chance to see them on what sadly has become the last tour as Mike Nesmith was not going with them, silly me eh 🙁 .

It would be very nice to see her on static display somewhere this year. Love the efforts made by the BBMF team on her to bring this scheme back to life.
