Nice work on the F-86 Roobarb, and for sure Cliff Spink deserves such a honour.
I won’t be at Duxford to see her this weekend, So I wish she would stay in these colours a bit longer.

I agree with the old model kits, But for me its the matchbox 2 colour ones. Saw a few last year at airshows and they do bring back memories.
Other things that work for me is seeing old Ford Escorts,Granada’s etc as they were the cars of my childhood.

Sadly he passed away.

Like most people I really want to see evidence that he is dead and that its not just another story with loads of spin that often get fed to the public, However if he is being held to help enquiries like Robbo says, then I can understand why they are hiding the facts.

As to further terror attacks etc, Yes there may well be, but I do think we give terrorists too much respect by even mentioning it. Life goes on and to live in fear is to let them win.

I have always seen Bin Laden as a bit of a panto bad guy, the figure of hate for parts of the world and figure of worship for others. But overall I very much doubt he had that much control over any terrorists as most seem to be splinter groups and sympathisers.

If he is gone then great, But the world has not changed for the better or really for the worse.

I think from one or two replies I have read on this posting, and indeed on one in particular yesterday, that if one is of a certain age, say mid 50s, our sense of humour is totally different to todays younger generations.
What would have made us laugh, today would appear to be offensive.to some of the younger generation.

When up in Buxton last week, went for a pint, and there were three young girls there outside the pub, throwing up, and swearing like a Trooper, and no one took any notice, as if it’s acceptable these days.OH how times change.

It would be great to think a few have survived as threy are very much a piece of history now.
I am 37 but grew up on a lot of the comedies from the 70s and 80s to the extent that in adulthood I have gone on to buy many of them on DVD. The latest humour seems to be people being sick or repeating the same sort of sketch all the time. It does not disgust me, But does bore the pants off me.

I know comedy such as the Goons and Monty Python etc broke a lot of moulds and maybe the modern PC shows with people being sick etc are trying to do the same for the current audience. But its lost on me with the exeception of “Outnumbered”, “Miranda” and “Not going out” that have amused me,but also have an older feel to them.

Comedy moves on I guess.

Some Years ago I worked with a guy who after Micheal Bentine died was tasked with helping clear his house by Micheal’s wife.
He said that she insisted that any scripts they found were disposed of,Although she was OK with them reading them first. He had left behind several Goon show sketches and all of his Potty time shows among other things.
Sadly in a way at the end of the day they followed his wifes wishes and did throw out the scripts, However he did always wonder if any resurfaced somehow.

Great post, Great Project, Great achievement and a great tribute to the original design, I’d say.
Maybe those who critise it should maybe be inspired to build their own full scale version with merlins etc to show the French how it can be done now that would be exciting 😀
