I would not be so confident that the RAF with still have the BBMF at this rate:( .

I do have an idea though now we have no long term plan for any aircraft to patrol our shores, Or to act as part of an early warning defence. Why not contract it out to to EasyJet or share it with Ireland and use RyanAir. Both are up in the air almost constantly over Europe and maybe if they put in a few standing places instead of seats there would be enough room for the equipment 😀 .

Mind you if I were to put any aircraft back into service I would choose any of the following Hunter,Canberra or maybe even put the Harrier back into service where it belongs.

It all seems a bit over the top to me going by what I have read, I do feel both were sexist in there comments, However the rest of this is over reaction.

What worries me is comments were not made to the public until somebody “gave” or “sold” them to the press, Surely that is some sort of agenda or witch hunt.

Yes a big mistake from them both, But have they really done any harm in the long run?
I doubt it.

I personally do not feel its a major problem to have the occasional tribute thread and would be against one ‘In memoriam’ thread.

For the most part the tribute threads are just forumites way of sharing what they thought of the now deseased star, and sharing memories. I only ever look at the ones for people who I liked or was interested in.
If these were combined into one thread it would not be possible for anyone to really share memories and would just be over confusing.

The fact there has been so many over the last few weeks just show sadly how many noteworthy people are departing this earth lately.

A ‘In memoriam’ sub forum would be another way to go, but to me that just feels wrong. Keep it the way it is and let people share views and memories as they wish.

Sad news, I always thought of him as underated. My uncle lent me a few of his albums when I was growing up and I can honestly say his music relaxed and calmed me and that he was more than just “Baker Street” and “Stuck in the Middle”.

He was an amazing actor and it is a shame more people maybe did not recognise him and his talents. But those who did know how great he was.

Rather unfairly, I think most people assume Mike Batt created the Wombles.

It would be great if a statue was errected in Wimbledon Common for her, Having grown up with them I feel she helped play a great part in my childhood.

As to Mike Batt he should be rightly credited for the theme tune, although often he is mocked for it which also seems a shame as he is a good songwriter.
