Well, it seems that text messages regarding his “new” identity, crime and whereabouts are all the rage….!

That’s the trouble with modern technology and will probably lead to an innocent man getting harmed.
I know the government is trying to make it that John Venables gets a fair trial but the way they have gone about it is leading to innocent people getting named and put at risk seems totally wrong to me.

I have to say I am also not convinced that evil like this is caused by family background, although I do feel it influenced it, Nurtured it if you like.

Evil must be born or at least a pre-programmed thing in the mind, after all so many people have a pretty bad up bringing, but do not go on to kill anyone let alone kill at 10 years old.

It strikes me as naive to believe that anybody who committed such a crime would ever be possible to rehabilitate and reintroduce into society and it suprises me we have not heard of Robert Thompson coming off the rails too.

I have read on the internet that the name people believe venables is known as now, I hope for everyones sake this is not him though as vigilante acts will not serve anyone any good in the long run.
I just hope justice will be done this time and if Venables is guilty he must never see the light of day again.

I totally feel that it should not matter whether the referee of any sport is male or female, What should matter is that they are fully competent to carry out the job and are totally unbiased.
As long as anyone wanting to be a referee is trained to the same standards and all referees are offered the same opportunities then this is a great idea.

I do wonder if players and fans would act differently to a woman referee,All the same its not like referees get an easy time anyway, So anybody who goes for the job will be more than aware of that.

The one thing I would say is that for any such a move to mean anything it would need several women referees to come into the game very early on, So it does not become a token gesture and just undermine the whole idea.

Count me in, though I didn’t see him with Harry Hill. The latter is genuinely one of the funniest men on television and one who I certainly can’t ever recall hearing swear.

    Moggy

I don’t remember Al Murray with Harry Hill either but admire both of them as comedians.
Harry has an amazing energy on stage and I can not recall any swearing from him at all.
Al Murray reminds me of the Alf Garnett character cleverly written and performed in a way that nobody is sure if its for real or not, Alf Garnett really was often described as racism but was really parodying a racist but maybe was done too well.
Al Murray “Pub landlord” is parodying xenophobia and over the top pride in Britishness.
Both very clever characters, Both convincing too.

I loved Peter Kay’s stuff at first but he got greedy and kept rehashing his routine on different DVDs, I felt that was an insult to his fan base really.

I like comedians like the late great Dave Allen, Who just had such a knack for story telling, Jasper Carrott is also great, Neither swore too much in my opinion.

I have never listened to Sandy Toksvig on R4 Moggy maybe I should.
Maybe I am getting old but I can’t stand Little Britain or Catherine Tate either they are too repetitive and also go out to do comedy which is just gross.
