I will be traveling to Cambridge/Duxford/Old Warden next weekend for the airshows and I have a couple of questions.

1. Will there be a shuttle bus between the train station in Cambridge and Duxford on the show days?

2. What is the best way to get to Old Warden on the sunday (from Cambridge)? We will be 12 persons, and would like to walk as little as possible.

For my sins i have never been to Old Warden, But as to Duxford there is a shuttle bus from Cambridge Railway station to the Airport, They leave from just outside the station, Normally just near the Roundabout not at the normal bus stop.

I really can’t stand this PC nonsense we have now, We all grew up with these cartoons and i have to say nobody i know of has had any effect from them, I do not smoke i have never performed any cartoon or other violence and to be honest until i read the story i could not remember Tom smoking at all.
It always seems to me there is a small minority of people who will complain over anything, I never understood why they sit through a whole show that they don’t like just to write in and complain, I guess its cheaper than replacing the batteries in the remote control.

Give us back our proper Tom and Jerry give us back Mel Smith smoking as hero Winston Churchill and take all the pens stamps and P.Cs of the P.C brigade.

I like many people have some concerns over the Migrant worker situation here in the UK at the moment, I also feel for these workers who pretty much end up second class citizens here, Being lowered paid,etc.
I feel big companies have seen a hole in the market staff wise and can fill it with EU Eastern European Citizens a ready market of hard working people wanting to better themselves.

To show how much some companies are relying on staff from Poland, My wife is from Belarus and just got her 1st Job in the UK for a large cheap clothing Retail company, She is fluent in Russian, Belarussian and English and can speak and understand German and Polish, She plans to teach here as she did in Belarus but we need to raise enough money for her to be able to do this, She has no recourse to public funds so therefore will not be claiming any government money.
She decided to apply for a job at the Retail company but thought being a non UK citizen she should not go for a supervisors job, When she started for first day at the shop she found many of the supervisors had only been in England for a few days as they had applied for the job in Poland, been interviewed in Poland then came to the UK, Many do not speak very good English but are supervising Native speakers this has caused many problems and has led to my wife needing to translate between staff, She has found this depressing. I am sure other companies are also advertising directly in Poland and elsewhere.

Its fair to say many of the jobs that have been filled across the Country are the type most here do not want to do but others are ones that people would do here if they could earn a living from it.
In terms of skilled workers that have come to the UK since the expansion of the EU in the short term its a good thing for the UK but if we do not train people already based here in the future then in the long term we will suffer, As for the countries that have lost people to the UK there surely must be a risk of a skills drain occuring with so many people taking their abilities from the country they were educated, This could cause major future problems for countries like Poland and the EU in general.

In terms of Population and housing, Firstly we can’t all live in the South East of England, If People could be encouraged to other UK cities and jobs and homes etc created in those area’s then it would benefit everybody, It could rejuvinate deprived area’s , The Truth is we all know its not that simple and its unlikely that most people who come here will end up living anywhere but the South East, This just further compounds the over population.

I personally think we have a great multi-Cultural society in the UK and this is only added to by recent immigration from new EU countries but i do think there needs to be a limit to how many people come in, in the future otherwise Countries like Poland will suffer as will the UK, I fear a messy situation if things are not more organised, And the last thing we want is to see people coming here and suffering or ending homeless on UK streets.

Must admit the whole accident seems odd to me, If its true the Hellcat hit smaller power cable’s before hitting the larger ones that brought it down it makes me question whether the pilot was effected in someway either something mental or something physical that did not show up in the investigation, Maybe we will never know.
The thing is we should not condemn the pilot for what he did, He paid the ultimate price, Sadly.

It would be lovely to see a Boston fly in the UK, But how many bookings it would get?.
Whilst if you buy a Buchon and paint it in some German World War Two markings better if they are Battle of Britain markings and you will probably get more bookings than a Boston would, Mind you if you paint your Buchon in its Correct Spanish Markings, I doubt it will get booked much at all.

I think i will save up a bit for the Boston though i’m only $1,200,000 short at the moment but thats a technicality really 😀
