(In an effort to be helpful…) It was a transport glider.

It was also built with engines as the Gotha Go-244

Talking of classrooms, is there a list of all the bits of airliner in use in colleges around the country? I know of two in my area – something that looks like a 737 nose at Chichester College and a section of fuselage that is probably from a 747 at South Downs College, near Waterlooville, both for cabin crew training but I’m guessing that other educational establishments will have similar (large-ish and identifiable, rather than just system bits) pieces of late aeroplane lying around to teach various trades to the uninitiated.

My grandaughter is 2 1/2, unsurprisingly I’m subjected to a lot of Disney including 101 Dalmatians…

Thank your lucky stars it isn’t 102 Dalmatians – utter drivel.

Johan Cruyff, who has died at the age of 68, was one of football’s greatest and most significant figures…

A late, foreign sports person I’ve actually heard of, although I am actually quite intrigued that the web address for a football story is in the rugby union section!

Thought I’d dig this thread up and give it a kick.

Once upon a time…well, yesterday actually:

Formula 1 drivers have demanded change at the top of the sport, saying its decision-making process is “obsolete and ill-structured”.

Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA) directors Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel and Alex Wurz have written a letter on behalf of the drivers.

It urges the owners and stakeholders of F1 to” restructure its governance”…

…It claims that some recent decisions are “disruptive”, avoid “the bigger issues” and “could jeopardise F1’s success”…

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/35882820

    One of which is…

…the move towards pay TV, which is at the centre of declining audiences…

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/35882820

Well, gosh. Trying to remember what was announced today.

    Oh yes…:

Formula 1 will no longer be shown on terrestrial television from 2019 after Sky Sports announced it had agreed an exclusive deal to broadcast the sport.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35889736

Makes you wonder if they knew something was in the pipeline, doncha think?

The Armoury are selling bottles of Coke-Cola for £2.50. Get mine from the local Spar for £1.

500ml? A local newsagent had them two for £1.50 last week, while Farm Foods had them at 49p.

At these prices the current catering contractor will soon be complaining they can’t make a profit and a new one will be along and change it all again.

Unfortunately caterers in places like museums need to balance out whether charging way over the odds to a few customers is more financially viable than charging a lower price to more diners. Generally those visiting are essentially a captive market and those on a budget who have previous experience of such places will bring their own food; some places will allow visitors a pass to leave the site and then the local Ronnies (McD) or Tesco will benefit. How many visit Duxford on an average Saturday or Sunday, how many of those use the dining facilities now and how many might be induced to use them if the prices were lower?
And, again, unfortunately if a contractor is charging £2.50 for a bottle of fizz that can be purchased elsewhere, offsite, at a much cheaper price then the chances are that they are not interested in lowering their prices and are happy with the status quo – until the contract renewal comes around…

MMMm – that’ll be nil now let me turn that question around…How many have you made snafu ???????

Me? Matters not how many I have made – I am not the one asking about Trip Reports, nor one who has read Trip Reports, or even sees the point in Trip Reports; gloating about travelling on an airliner could be classified the same as travelling on a bus for some people, with a similar amount in both tallies. Did travel on a train t’other day, though – might that count?

Well I have been to the Doctors (8),Hospital,(4) Aldi(28) and Tesco.(50+) Do they count as trip reports?

Could do, but only if you can find an appropriate trip report forum to file your reports in.

Some of the good people of UKAR want Thunder City to bring Lightning XS452 over here. What could possibly go wrong. :highly_amused:

Let us hope there will be an airshow for it to fly at, then.
