Or are you going to be a little more formal?

God, grow up Snafu! I suppose you spit fuming bile over Mel Brooks for the Profucers. If you really think my post was serious you need a brain transplant and you certainly need to quit your cringe making preachy mode.
No, since that was an obvious comedy made by a recognised comedy writer starring comedians (although they did spell it differently…).
My cringe making preachy mode doesn’t seem to have made you recognise that what you typed was offensive. Try looking at it from the view of, say, a concentration camp inmate and less like one of the doctors.
You cant argue or debate with Snafu- he is always right and everyone who objects is wrong.
You can argue or debate, and I love it when you tell me (and everyone else) that I’m right. But with Charlie making such a crass statement (apparently said humorously!) is defence of your original crass statement (no, I hadn’t forgotten you) and defending himself by implying I need a brain transplant (hardly a suitable comeback, given the nature of the original remark and the gist of the Nazi medical experiments mentioned previously) there is hardly a right or wrong about it.
But please, tell me where I am wrong.
It’s taken you lot long enough to work that one out.
Oh no, no, no. You give up, throw your teddy out of your playpen and delete your posts, Edgar, since your opinion so far is that I am wrong and you are right. And we are even in that regard, apparently – except I don’t delete my posts and create havoc.
Answers are not black or white, but views can be changed and you have not made a single post that caused me to alter my view. Maybe I have not altered your view either, but I will have made some of you think, wonder about the world at large, maybe wonder (for example) whether it is right that they should joke about the Nazis having the right idea about the treatment of those they regarded as lower then themselves, scum.
Instead of always blaming dog owners, some parents should educate their brats on how to behave around dogs. For example, parents should teach their brats that dogs are not playthings, dogs should not be grabbed from behind, dogs should not have their tails and ears pulled, dogs should not be jumped on, dogs should not have sticks waved in their faces. Every time a kid is bitten by a dog the owner gets the blame, but when you look into what caused the dog to bite you often hear that they have been teased by the brat while the parents looked on.
And the dogs that observed their owners giving more attention to the new born baby and seemingly decide to kill off the opposition?
How about Clifford Clarke, the pensioner in the story at the beginning of this thread (did you even read it?), who did nothing except have a door open and ended up with his arms either torn off or hanging by a sinew, to die in agony because the dogs owners were stupid, stupid idiots?
Millions of dogs have lived around children, suffering probably, yet mercifully few have been savaged or killed no matter how much provocation there has been. Dog owners need to be in control of their animal at all times – dogs are pack animals and their owners should be the leader of the pack, but if they aren’t then the dog has a potential behaviour problem.
If there is the remotest chance that the dog is dangerous then it should be muzzled: if one child (no matter how much you object to it, or its race, creed, colour or behaviour) is saved because of muzzling then it has to have been worth it – to say different must surely be crazy, like allowing you to keep a mature lion or tiger and take it for walks in the local recreation ground whilst claiming that ‘it wouldn’t harm a fly, it’s just a big baby really…’.
[Sad face] Not the FAA I was expecting…
If the wind-turbine company were to excavate the crash-site sympathetically and were to treat any remains recovered with the respect that they are due then personally I do not see the problem.
If the MoD were to allow it. Which they apparently don’t.
Has there been any precedent set previously?
It has, to my mind, been the case previously that those who wish to disturb war graves generally have their own interests at heart; in this case they want to put a wind farm on the site. Would they be as interested if they had no plans for the site?
Your theory seems to be that no ‘war grave’ can be disturbed under any circumstances even though you cannot possibly know whether an aircraft crash-site actually constitutes a ‘grave’ or not because not every case is as clear as the case in question (and even then there is room for doubt).
So you are saying, if I understand this correctly, that any and every site designated a war grave should be open to the potential of commercial exploitation on the off chance that it might not actually be a grave? I imagine that this would be why the MoD generally appears not to allow the digging of such sites but, of course, we shouldn’t be allowed to stand in the way of a business and its profit nor allow our respect for the unrecovered to play a part in any decision…
I’d suggest that the above theory is unworkable in practice and in the real world would probably lead to unknown ‘war graves’ that are stumbled-upon being treated with a lot less respect than they deserve.
Stumbled upon war graves, accidentally found in the pursuit of other projects, are one thing; deliberately digging up a known war grave (whether or not you believe there are bodies present) is entirely a different matter, as is digging at the site of a known aircraft wreck.
I’m not the one who posted such an offensive post.
There are wind ups and there are wind ups, but there are also things you really don’t make jokes about and that was one of them.
Have you done your research yet?
Head injury experiments
In mid-1942 in Baranowicze, occupied Poland, experiments were conducted in a small building behind the private home occupied by a known Nazi SD Security Service officer, in which “a young boy of eleven or twelve [was] strapped to a chair so he could not move. Above him was a mechanized hammer that every few seconds came down upon his head.” The boy was driven insane from the torture.
A wind up, you think? Or maybe a sick experiment, not to be made fun of?
Did anyone actually read the attachments in post #7 above?
Um, no. Sorry, it was too small. But when I accidentally clicked on one it opened up further (although I am sure I tried this before, unsuccessfully).
Bodies unrecovered.
So a very vague chance that they came down in swamp or river? Didn’t think so…
Then that is a possibility, but unless the bodies are found elsewhere they had to have come down with the Lancaster, wouldn’t you say?
It is all speculation, of course, but that is the strongest option.
It amused me to see the latest copy of Private Eye – the footballers getting off the plane with the pilot asking if he should keep the engines running…
(Just found a linky: http://privateeyenews.tumblr.com/post/88370804316/eye-1368-heading-for-shops-and-subscribers-now)
It appalled me that the Sun (*hakk, spit*) went off into the Amazonian rain forest and ‘converted’ forest dwellers into England fans.
If you hang around here long enough the Eng-ger-lan fans will be along and ripping you – and me – a new one for not being patriotic enough…
Oh money, definitely.
Respect might cost nothing, but you can’t bank it either.
I don’t believe you are taking this seriously.
Charlie, I quote you so that when you delete the above crass and grossly stupid statement this will still be here to shame you. Mods – Moggy: PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THIS ILL-INFORMED QUOTE.
So they weren’t all bad then!!:D
Do you seriously not know or understand what the Nazis were about, what they did to their own people, what the did to other nationalities, creeds, races, etc?
Maybe you should do some research into what happened in concentration camps, what abuse was carried out in the name of research by murderous sadists with official backing.
Here is a start:
Sterilization experiments
The Law for the Prevention of Genetically Defective Progeny was passed on 14 July 1933, which legalized the involuntary sterilization of persons with diseases claimed to be hereditary: weak-mindedness, schizophrenia, alcohol abuse, insanity, blindness, deafness, and physical deformities. The law was used to encourage growth of the Aryan race through the sterilization of persons who fell under the quota of being genetically defective. 1% of citizens between the age of 17 to 24 had been sterilized within 2 years of the law passing. Within 4 years, 300,000 patients had been sterilized. From about March 1941 to about January 1945, sterilization experiments were conducted at Auschwitz, Ravensbrück, and other places by Dr. Carl Clauberg. The purpose of these experiments was to develop a method of sterilization which would be suitable for sterilizing millions of people with a minimum of time and effort. These experiments were conducted by means of X-ray, surgery and various drugs. Thousands of victims were sterilized. Aside from its experimentation, the Nazi government sterilized around 400,000 individuals as part of its compulsory sterilization program. Intravenous injections of solutions speculated to contain iodine and silver nitrate were successful, but had unwanted side effects such as vaginal bleeding, severe abdominal pain, and cervical cancer. Therefore, radiation treatment became the favored choice of sterilization. Specific amounts of exposure to radiation destroyed a person’s ability to produce ova or sperm. The radiation was administered through deception. Prisoners were brought into a room and asked to complete forms, which took two to three minutes. In this time, the radiation treatment was administered and, unknown to the prisoners, they were rendered completely sterile. Many suffered severe radiation burns.
You get the picture?
Maybe the full story of Stalin’s own human experimentation will be made public, but in the meantime those Nazis experiments are one reason why many people don’t trust the claims of right wing fanatics that this sort of behaviour is a thing of the past – especially when the Serbs were found to be carrying out their own genocide, with massacres in towns and Bosnians herded into concentration camps; just one little step to experimenting on them, you know…
Oh a wind up! Now I get it – what a hoot! I’m doubled up laughing………..
Nurse! Get a nurse!
You mean to say people actually still read newspapers?
Hmm, interesting.
Quite a lot. Not as many as read the red-topped comics, but still.
