Indeed Baz. Hard to believe how the same road looks today. I dread to think what would of happened if a lorry or bus driver ignored the signs.

Thanks chaps. So I’m guessing it was the responsibility of the duty controller in the tower to set its direction?.. or was it constantly set the same?

Thanks for the replies. I’ve no knowledge of wind tunnel models so I couldn’t really comment on that. I think it had an asking price of £175 on the ticket – but obviously open to negotiation!

Seen today and possibly one of the most bulky and heavy models I’ve ever encountered, a large cast model of an AW Argosy on a stand (it just says “big aeroplane” on the sales ticket).

Has anyone seen one of these before?

Rear tail rotor gust lock from Sea King HAS.5 XV699 – one of the more ‘obscure’ aviation items I’ve ever seen on offer at an antique centre!
