Many thanks for posting those Don, and welcome to the forum. Looks like they had a pretty hairy ride through that fence !

Some great great photos WB, thanks for taking the time to share them on here. Love the first one of the Viking coming into land over the road, fantastic sight!

Sorry to hear that your father, a fellow forum member, has passed away!

Great find, Christoph, thanks for showing it. Do you have any other items from it?

Looks like NW is now the hub of vintage jet operations in the east of the UK.
    Great photos!

Really hope I can get there on the 25th. Bruntingthorpe is an amazing experience in my opinion, and I’m always grateful to the operators and volunteers alike who make it all possible !

Thanks for the replies everyone. Still its interesting to see just what turns up at these amazing old airfields. And standing at the runway crossover and looking at the control tower made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck!

Havoc Turbinlite – nice idea Propstrike lol.

Thanks for replying, boguing, and yes I think you could be right. Any idea if its a tie down hook in the other pic, or just something more mundane?

Another item from the stores, this time a control panel which i presume is Canberra B.2 but would appreciate confirmation from someone. Thanks.

Cheers Baz. I was thinking along the same lines – maybe for supporting a Canberra tail, but I thought it looked too old for jets.

Interesting concept, if nothing else the wide track undercart would certainly help the P-51 as a carrier based fighter.

    Thanks for posting the pics.

Seconded! Excellent idea for a thread.;)

Thirded! And brilliant to see three very distinctive Gnats flying together. Just hope airshow organisers open their eyes (and wallets) this year and book them!

The Bassingbourn tower museum opens today for the new season. Visitors just need to turn up at the main security gate and one of the members will escort you through the camp.

Details can be found on the website.
