Thanks reassuring to know HFL, as while its pleasing that the Gannet is going to have some sort of usefulness at St Athan i would of worried about what would have happened to it after the spares reclamation had ended. It has after all survived for many years as a complete airframe thanks to the Gatwick Aviation Museum, despite not being in the best of condition.

I well remember AEW.3 XL471 at Farnborough being bought and used for spares for the airworthy XL502 (which only flew for a year or two afterwards), and then being scrapped. I had the throttle box from this aircraft until a few years back.

Here’s hoping that XL500 is still making good progress towards flight :eagerness:

Just a couple from me.

I saw both of these loads parked on the A11, and they appeared to be heading down to Felixstowe or Harwich docks.
Sad to see both of them go, especially for me the Sea Venom, and i just hope they are going to somewhere else to be appreciated, looked after and wanted !
