I think Terry has nailed it as a type 3 Mk 3 (Vampire T11), which is what the owner had tentatively been advised. Therefore i dont think its going to suit my needs.
But thanks for the help guys.

Not totally 100% sure David, but yes i think it is. What type GGS was the T.11 fitted with?
Cheers Dave. For a second i thought you meant you had a Wyvern piece. Anyway yes pics and measurements would be appreciated, just out of interest.
Looking for the front hinged aerodynamic section that fits onto a Wyvern windscreen (as arrowed on the pic). I believe the Canberra PR.9 had a similar design, but obviously the part i am looking for will probably have a Westland part number somewhere.
Thanks,
Rob.
Woo hoo.. brilliant news. Keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll come through the next 48 hrs safely mate.
Nice photos BK. I presume the late great Mr Haydon Baillie flying, but when and where were these taken?
Hmm.. water has a habit of finding its way inside even the most water-tight airframes, especially old ones!
Thanks for the heads up. Its now in the diary :).
Thought I’d register and pop by to say thanks for posting this to Wyvernfan and thanks to those that have taken the time to read the article and post replies.
Hello Ian, and yes welcome to the forum. It was only by chance that i stumbled across your story.. but i i became so engrossed in reading it i couldn’t stop.
It is such an amazing account of your experience, so thank you for taking the time to write it, and share what most of us especially myself have little or no knowledge about!
Thanks to abadonna and JJ for Canberra info.
Back in Part 2 of this series, I posted a set of Valiant photos all taken at Cambridge. Here are some different shots, with very little background data.
First, some more from Cambridge:XD??? (Those were the days):
Was going to post that i wasn’t totally convinced that thats landing at Cambridge (Marshalls). But on second thoughts, it is of course before the Teversham Rd was slightly re-routed further east to allow lengthening of the runway. Great photo!
Interesting anecdote Resmoroh, thanks.
In hindsight i do wonder if the MOD actually saved money and made the right decision by retiring the Belfast fleet early, then using the exact same aircraft again but paying Heavylift to tackle loads or logistics beyond the capabilities of the C-130?!
Also here’s a very interesting Belfast film about 9 mins long. Impressive load going inside one too. Don’t worry about the music at the begining, it soon stops.

Thanks for the extra info VX927. Here’s hoping her flying career can continue for a bit longer.!
Born in Duxford, and lived in Gt Shelford and Whittlesford before returning to live overlooking the eastern end of the airfield.
Lovely village, lovely area, lovely airfield.! 🙂
