Your welcome Paul. I’m hoping fellow forumite TEXANTOMCAT will be along at some point to answer any questions, as he will be able to tell you much more than me.

That said, how many people here have told their other halves about aviation purchases up front? :diablo:

    Jon

😮 But they always find out eventually. She calls it ‘the cr@p in the shed’… i prefer the correct term ‘valuable historic artifacts’ ;).

Indeed they were. Made a point of sitting right at the front to the right so i could see the pilot. Then watched nervously as fuel came out the top of the primer or whatever it was as he pumped away.
Still got my ticket somewhere with the exact date on. Might even have your initials on :).

No worries Blue Max. From my last chat on the subject with the airfield manager the problem is beyond their control unless the two farmers / owners of the neighbouring fields play ball and co-operate with the police on the grounds of trespassing or something.

But the problem of those in the field at the end of the runway is an old problem (me included :() but now we have people walking across the field and actually setting up base right beside the runway. A blown tyre or swing on take off / landing and there’ll will be repercussions.

For any ex Russavia team its 24 years today since G-AGTM swung on take off.

    Dave

Remember that day very well, sadly for both the Rapide and Blenheim.
And my first ever flight was from Duxford in TM in 1985. Have always admired the Rapide since that day.

    Great shots DCW.

Thanks for posting that link Anna. Hopefully JW’s swift and detailed explanation will help end the speculation :).
