Have to say i cannot remember the last time i saw a warbird FIGHTER pilot not wearing or carrying one, so on that score i would say yes for fighters anyway.

Yes the three CAS photos were taken at Duxford. Remember them first arriving and causing quite a stir as they were something ‘new’ there.

Love the Hunter stream landing over the old farmhouse. A timeless shot in my opinion.. well done.

That conjures up quite a sight in my imagination. Just wonder how effective those three new strike types would of been. Would also make quite a subject for an artist to paint.

Also from my own interest, had this potential scenario become reality and development of types had been needed to quicken as a result of their priority in this theatre, would Rolls Royce of continued development of the piston Eagle… as the turboprop concept was very much in its early stages of development then.
