    What’s the story on the Balliol and Cobra?

    The Balliol is i believe ex Millom, and the Cobra is a superb project belonging to forumite redhillwings.

    Excellent day at Newark today. Good to see some new and exciting projects on the go as well as progress on some that i had seen before.
    Forumites seemed to be there in force with DCollins, JonH, Anon, RedhillWings, JohnnyKavanagh and Rocketeer being only to pleased to discuss their projects.

    Also have to say it was impressive to see NAM’s Vulcan XM594 flexing its external lights, airbrakes and bomb doors with the help of its APU.

    Anyway i restricted myself to photographing exhibits i had not seen before. Apologies if i have missed yours out;

    That is truly amazing, and testament to her excellent condition and maintenance. And what a sight that would of been to, a near supersonic Sea Vixen in the 21st century.

    I presume you went along with Simon for the test did you P-K.?.. not that i’m jealous or anything :(:D.

    Well done guys.

    Well from my point of view DrPepper what your feeling is perfectly normal. When you care deeply for someone and then that same someone does something totally irrational or in my case just ‘stops’, it can be very confusing.

    And its easy for outsiders to say ‘just forget about it and move on’, because quite often without some sort of closure thats easier said than done.!

    Whats the point of a fire service then if it cannot deal with a soft field. And supposing there were people trapped inside, what then?

    Taken from the Liberty Belle website;

    “The crew actually unloaded bags, then had the horrible task of watching the aircraft slowly burn while waiting for the fire trucks to arrive. There were high hopes that the fire would be extinguished quickly and the damage would be repairable. Those hopes were diminished as the fire trucks deemed the field too soft to cross due to the area’s recent rainfall. So while standing by our burning B-17 and watching the fire trucks parked at the field’s edge, they sadly watched the wing fire spread to the aircraft’s fuel cells and of course, you all have seen the end result. There is no doubt that had the fire equipment been able to reach our aircraft, the fire would have been quickly extinguished and our Liberty Belle would have been repaired to continue her worthwhile mission”. I’m speechless 🙁
