Always thought that is a very pretty aeroplane, and another intrigueing piece of naval hardware. The question is, are any still flying or being rebuilt to flight status.? A question for our american cousins perhaps..
Unless i missed something (which is possible) there were several pics of the unfortunate pilot… and one of the recovered wreckage. That doesn’t smack of a dignified recovery to me!
This is exactly what i was referring to when i said flying at Duxford was more under threat from outside than within. There have been several attempts in the past to gain planning permission for a motorway services area beside the M11 virtually right underneath the approach at the eastern end. Now this ridiculous housing plan has been put forward.. and believe me regardless of what any official or politician says it WILL affect flying there.
As you can imagine i am watching very closely.!!!
Love the first shot… awesome.!
Quite possibly Pete Kinsey… very talented pilot.!
Thanks for the explanation Neil.. although personally i’m knackered after 12 miles, let alone 55.!

The bike is a good Trek road-bike, and it is a very do-able trip, but I ‘bonked’
on the way back and had to walk up some very shallow hills:mad:
‘Bonking’ at any time is enough to make one tired… but doing it on a bikeride?..:p;)
