Good point, i love the old hangars at Duxford, whenever i go there i walk about round the back of the hangars near the operations room just to get the 1940’s atmosphere

As far as i know, the airspace building is being built around the original superhangar then they are going to dismantle it, so i would have thought they will remove the green doors before long. I think the hangar space will only be slightly bigger, just more space at the sides for exhibitions e.t.c. and more aircraft crammed in.

Can you describe the plastic being applied to the north end of the building? Could be protection while they add the wall of glass, can’t remember what its called.

Got a new camera phone the other day, so i should be able to get some pics from either the Bruntingthorpe open day or the Assault Glider Trust open weekend, if i work out how to i’ll post them.

Wow great idea, are there any plans for building replicas of other types of aircraft after the Me 262’s? I’m sure a few Spits or Hurricanes would go down well, especially early marks.

Wow, good to see it coming along, can’t wait to see it when its done, i’m thinking about a trip down to London to see the Spit and Hurricane at Science Museum (both B of B vets i believe), the BoB monument and if possible a trip to the IWM at Lambeth.

I’ll say, i get dissapointed whenever i see it lying there when other impressive RAF Bombers like the Vulcan, Lanc, Welly are standing firm and proud around her. Same for the Avro Anson I, stuck on a trailer

Phew, looks like the aircraft collection was left unharmed, and most importantly no one was injured

Replica or original, it makes no difference to me. They both look the same, and (hopefully) sound the same, so a replica Vimy would mean exactly the same to me as an original one.

East Kirby is your best bet, they have an original Ford WOT Crew Coach for the job as well
