Great! Do you have a link to the live video? Can’t find it on the National Geographic site
Nice, the Auster cockpit was interesting, shame i wasn’t there to buy it :p
As for oldest airworthy jet trainer, its gotta be one of the Martin Baker Meteor T.7’s
Whats with the B-25? Surprised to see one just lying there!
That’d be amazing, i love post war jets! Could possibly bring in some other post-war aircraft for static, such as a Whirlwind e.t.c., would look very good
Lovely, cheers! Must get myself down there one day, as soon as im older enough to drive and actually have a car :p
More photos would be great, do you have any of the Auster 6, or any ground vehicles? I think theres an artillery piece at the back of the Waco Hadrian Glider, not sure though
Do believe it is, as far as i know there is (well, was) only one Spitfire FSM at Donington, weren’t some based there during the war, or built?
Just been extremely reliably informed by James Barber, a volunteer there, that it is the Spitfire FSM from Donington Race track (very close by for those that don’t know) that the aeropark is to have. Didn’t happen to see the Vampire, Vampire nose or Meteor there did ya?
hehe don’t worry, i didn’t know the difference between a Javelin and a Sea Vixen until just over a year ago! Btw, your right on the Canberra, unless the nav seat (if it has one) makes it a three seater
It’s quicker than the train? :diablo:
And also bloody great fun!
Mmmmm post war RAF jets…. love the Gnat, one of my favourites
I’m sure the owners wouldn’t mind taking the cover up and moving for a moment so someone interested can get a photo, at military shows ive been to, re-enactors and the like have been very helpful in this sort of situation. After all, you never know (or get what you want) unless you ask
Personally i think its their choice, especially with the cover as we all know what its like to get into a car with the steering wheel burning your hands e.t.c, id much rather have a nice, relatively cool cockpit with controls you can touch without hurting yourself than have it on display. I do understand your viewpoint as well though, so like most arguments on the forum i have two viewpoints on it.
Canberra T.4, Norfolk and Suffolk aviation museum? If not there, Yorkshire Air Museum
