Very nice, didn’t there used to be a Yak 9 operating in the UK a few years back?
Should have taken off by now, still looking for the live video link on the national geographic site!
Must have been the BBMF ones that did a display at Warwick Castle today, something to do with the places role in WW2
Cheers, got it off play.com for £6.99, should be coming in the post tomorrow, can’t wait to see it!
Can’t wait, especially for the live video feed. Been waiting ages, but i understand totally about the weather and reasons for delays e.t.c., i doubt i’d even have the balls to do what they’re doing.
You’ve seen the film already? Or even parts of it?
Sorry, didn’t make myself clear. I meant from what was said in the other posts and from what ive seen on the internet by the producers, talking about using as much footage made by themselves in the air as much as possible and only using cgi when they can’t do stuff easily or at all using the aircraft.
How come it wont meet our expectations? From what ive seen it looks pretty good, with all those dogfights using both the replicas and cgi
Another angle of this aeronautical piece of Vogon Poetry… The other one is a modified An-2 called Lala-1. It’s primary task was to test the engine configuration for the M-15, but i think it was also an ugliness testbed.
Anyone disagree in giving the friendly people of PZL-Mielec in Poland the Aviation Ugliness Award?
I do, think it looks rather nice actually
What was actually going on with the re-enactment? The commentators seemed to change from it being ‘not based on trafalgar’ to being ‘based on trafalgar’ every 5 minutes!
Cheers, will we be able to see the QRA shed as it is at the moment? Also, was Brian Caroll one of the three ex-lightnings pilots present at the Bea Beaumont open day? While they were all busy signing paintings the kind gentlemen signed a small print i had of a lightning (I was about 12 so couldn’t afford a big print), still got it somewhere it means quite a lot to me.
Great, Bruntys just down the road from me so might go down with my dad. Will it be at the end of Bruntingthorpe that the normal open days i held? I went to the LPG day when it was at the other end of the airfield, i think it was in recognition of the test pilot Bea Beaumont (Not sure of his name, i hope thats it)
Cheers, do you know when the movie is due to be released or when we can see a trailer for it?
Very nice. Also like to say exactly what Mike J did, be very interesting if they brought her back somewhere and restored her, from photos she seems in good nick.
Apparently its moving to Cosford, am i right?
Either a Catalina, simply so me and some mates could just fly to the seaside when ever we feel like, or a Bristol Beaufighter because there my favourite aircraft, and i’d love to fly one of the beasts. I’d probably restore Skysports old one
