It’s 8 rounds in a Luger 9mm magazine, so he must be one hell of a reloader (and a quick shot) to fire off two magazines, put another one in and fire one round from that before he downs the Heinkel
Very nice, although im going to go for the Tamiya one, one of the most important things to me in a kit is ease of build! Might cheat and go for the nightfighter, simply beacause it’s all black :-p
Yeah, in some respects it is more interesting than Hendon as it has such rare and, in many cases, unique aircraft such as the Meteor prototype (only one left) and the Lightning predeccesors, the line up of two of them with the Lightning at the end looks superb! Then again i prefer Hendon for the sheer variety of aircraft (mmmmm beaufighter)
It is, the shop and resturant aren’t very good though
Yeah, although my favourite exhibit will be the Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer, looks great in camouflage and been in storage for a number of years
Wow… cheers for the pic! Anyone know when its due to be finished? Can’t wait to see Victor, Vulcan and Valiant in the same building, (well they are at hendon but the victor is just a nose) hope you can get a decent shot of the Valiant this time!
I also though I had heard that Jim Johnston had died but I might be mistaken
Could be confused with Johnny Johnson, at first i got confused.
It’s not a wildly exciting Naval aircraft I’m afraid, aj…
The gannet? Doesn’t get much more unexciting than that, and its a big ugly beast! Someones trying to get one to fly nowadays, wonder how thats coming along.
You might wanna try the Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter if you want a nice kit – it’s very easy to build and looks great afterwards, i want to do mine in a lovely Desert camo scheme but i’m too scared i’ll screw it up!
Very interesting, how much of a Stirling are they planning to recreate/restore?
Cheers mate, would have e-mailed you but didn’t want to keep pestering you :-p So is the Vampire and Meteor to be displayed indoors, or restored indoors and then put outside? How big is this building going to be? Sounds like it’s going to be rather large, i pictured in my mind just a small shed with a little display, shop and vampire pod in it!
Wow! A flying whirlwind, where is she based?
Thanks, oh, and forgive my stupidness, but what is a stations flight aircraft? Is that just used for transporting personnel or training them and things like that?
Great lil aircraft i thought, although your not allowed to take a photo of the underside of the plane… maybe theres some sort of secret weapon under there :-p
I agree with it, as long as its relatively discreet or suits the aircraft well, for example a virgin logo in place of the nose art on a B-17 would suit pretty well if it was changed a bit
