The reason why Mr Langham isn’t coming with us in the Broussard is due to the fact that the P1’s youngest son has had a rather nasty accident recently and as he is in hospital in Bristol (having been transferred from Barnstaple), family matters come way way before any airshow and therefore it has been decided that none of us will attend.
Best wishes to all that go. Have a wonderful time!!
Martin
Certainly mate, despite what it seems like on other forums there’s much more to life that aviation and airshow. Hope he gets better soon and see you chaps later in the year
Unfortunately now won’t be arriving by Broussard but still a slim chance of Auster… if not i’ll get my way there somehow
Good news – which Rapides will it be, G-AGTM and G-AIDL with the other under rebuild staying at Cov?
No another birdy 🙂
Real big and blue 😀 (or in some countries, yellow)
?

Not sure at the moment how i’m arriving but chances are by Broussard or Auster, should be a great weekend, personally i’m not bothered that there aren’t any Tornado GR4’s or some other RAF type, there’s plenty of civilian and military aircraft to enjoy both in static and in the air
Thanks for the photos John, she looks gorgeous in that livery
Am I right in thinking the 1920s G-E*** sequence ended with G-EBZZ? For a truly authentic 1943 period registration you’d be looking at something in the G-AG** sequence, surely.
I take the point though about G-ECAN at least looking a bit more authentic that a collision of consonants. And it does look nice.
I think that rather and be an authentic registration for 1943, it’s that it’s an authentic registration for the early 1930’s, matching the Railway Air Services markings
Hi Roger, certainly enjoyed my flight – i’ve been reading a lot about mid-war aviation in the UK, particularly the civilian side of things which is interesting me more and more, so was great to be able to fly in a 1930’s airliner, as well as see two others. Thanks for the information about G-AKRP, be good to see another Rapide in the skies, and will be interesting to see what colours she comes out in
What looked like a Meteor, but could have been a Jet Provost/Strikemaster just passed over mine in south west Leicestershire heading north each
Glad that you made it – the Canadian Auster is owned by the Secretary of the Club, very nice. The strange looking one is a modified AOP9
Auster 5 Alpha yesterday and a Druine Turbi today – although I was at Shuttleworth so cheating a bit
Nice shots, i’ve whacked mine up on the forum (slipped down a few pages)
No, it wouldn’t – every item of kit known as ‘xx pattern’ normally wouldn’t be used by the end user for a year at the earliest
I wasn’t there as it was far too short notice for me, but it did land
Haha, wondered that myself!
