Wow, now that is one stunning aircraft
Brings to mind the “Death to Spotters” t-shirts that appeared at one or two PFA Annual rallies………..thinks should I call my lawyer ?!!!!!!
Planemike
Where would one acquire the mentioned t shirts?
I seem to recall a certain member of this very forum – if you can think that far back – had a “Bomb Squad” T-Shirt that they wore at the airport…
Wow, I bet they were a right laugh at parties
If anyone on here has ever visited an abandoned RAF Base, and saw apparitions of WW2 RAF Bomber Crews, and it happened to be a Sunday, there’s a good chance it was a few of my mates who do RAF Living History, they’ve scared off more than a few people inadvertently!

Nice to see a certain Auster III in the background 😉
What was he thinking?
“S**T!”
(when he crashed, that is)
Pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. 😉

That’s three of us, it’d beat getting the train!
Nice Martinet, is it planned to fully restore it?
As you guys probably already know, today (well, yesterday – written slightly after midnight) is the 27th anniversary of the Penlee Lifeboat Disaster, which resulted in the loss of the Watson class Lifeboat ‘Solomon Browne’ with all 8 crew, and all 8 on board the ‘Union Star’, at least four of which were rescued and onboard ‘Solomon Browne’.
Great photo Ollie, looks fantastic! I’ll finally have to make the trip down to Yeovilton when it’s on display
Thanks for the information everyone, and to Pagen01 for the photo, great to hear that it’s been preserved, and in ’81 colours
The Poms, Kiwis and Aussies all operated Austers there, which aren’t much more ~ah~ environmentally controlled!
Ah, but the love of flying possibly the greatest aircraft ever built is more than enough to keep you warm 😀
Hitler used to turn up late to his rallies to whip up the crowd into a frenzy when he finally did arrive, not a bad idea, maybe the companies have taken to that idea too?
I don’t know how many times I’ve heard something similar proposed for GLA over the years and still nothing has happened. Would have been useful the time A330 Crazy and T5 payed a visit a few years ago, and we almost ended up in the cells ! 😀
Me and my friends may or may not have been followed by a police helicopter at LHR at one point
