Like to add my thanks and holiday greetings to the Duxford regulars. The pictures are always superb. For DCW please continue with the Old Warden thread. It brings back a lot of happy memories.
Happy & prosperous 2015

Netheravon was the RAF Police Training station for most of the 1950’s. I went there as an air cadet in 1956 and I don’t recall any aircraft being actually based there (lots of dogs though!) and it was only a grass runway. However there were regular visits from an Anson, so maybe there’s your answer.

Thanks for posting and for the research that went into it. Reads very much like ‘a labour of love’ Interesting to note that NZ seems to have acquired almost the full set of Percival types over the years. I well remember the Jean Batten Gull at Old Warden in the early ’70s. It was, I think no longer airworthy at that time.
Best wishes

Interesting thread Flyernzl. Liked the history of the 3 Princes, quite a story. On a non-aero note I liked the old Standard 8 at the bottom of the last pic of the Prentice. On my only visit to NZ (1995) I remember to my amazement seeing a few of them still being driven around.

Great Pictures! I have to agree with you: the WACO is a beaut!

[QUOTE=Mark_pilkington;2166086]Yes Bill, that’s a CAC CA-28 Ceres Cropduster, a post war development from the Wirraway design.
Thanks Mark

What a lovely a lovely aircraft in flight! How many Single seat Vampires are currently flying/airworthy

Nice pictures and interesting technical history. What is the yellow aircraft in the back-round of some of the pics? Is it a Ceres?

I would like to give a “Return Thankyou” to all in the UK who ensured that we in Canada have the loan of the magnificent Typhoon. As a volunteer with CASM I get to see it a couple of times a week and it is always a thrill. It has also given me the opportunity to chat with some former Typhoon pilots and their relatives, a real privilege. Thanks again.
Best wishes

Great pictures Brian, whatever you are using! Thanks for posting, haven’t been there for about 50 years.

It’s with the FAAHF is it not? I recall at one point it was going to be restored to flight, but that was put on hold.
Thanks for the info. But don’t the FAAHF have 2 potential flyers already?
Bill
What about NF 389 that was at Lee-on-Solent for many years? Is it at Yeovilton now?
What’s the latest on the Swordfish? I guess it has engine problems. Will we see it flying again in the near future?
The VWC September airshow will be sadly missed this year.

A great lady. I recently reread ‘The Forgotten Pilots’ for the 3rd or 4th time. Always a great read. Sadly missed.
