1990 Battle of Britain Anniversary, Hamilton, ON Canada

I was lucky enough to attend the 1990 CWHM Airshow and saw the flying formation of the Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane and Kermit Weeks’ Mosquito. Vera Lynn was singing a wartime song as the planes flew overhead and drowned her out. Needless to say, the chills up the spine were unstoppable. This next CWHM visit is on my bucket list! This summer, unfortunately, a Focke-Wulf 190 was to perform, but did not attend. However a huge Boeing Superfortress “FIFI” flew alongside the Lancaster and made several passes for photographers as did most of the aircraft. At the end of the show, the Lancaster flew overhead for a good half hour!

Thanks Steve, I also discovered that after 1945 AV Roe maintained and serviced Lancasters.
