Don’ bother about the quality. It is a unique shot of 2 lancs. Well done and thanks for posting it!

I am pleased to see this tread. Thanks for starting it hairyplane. I also feel that this needed to be said after the RNHF Firefly tread.
My opinion is also that planes who crashed must be considerd as a source of spare parts or as new projects. If we burn al the planes who have had a fatal crash, there wouldn’t be much warbirds around. Some of the planes who fly today might have had a accident while they where in service.
I am pleased to see the spit IAC 161 of HFL being restored to airworthy state and isn’t the catalina who crashed in the sea a few years ago also under restoration. This would not have been possible if the wrecks had been smelted after there accident.
PS: If I would die in a crash with a vintage airplane, I would be sad (turn in my grave or something like that) if the remains woud be destroyed based upon emotions.

Thanks for this news guys, and also that link Michael H. It is nice to see some pics of the connie in the air!

I started with a game called Battle of Britain which was a pre-historic combat flightsim for my schneider computer and that was around 1986.
The combat FS that I used the most in the past have been Aces over the pacific, Aces over Europe, Red Baron, European Air War, IL2, …
Later I converted to general FS (I Think around 1993/1995) FS5, FS98, FS2000, FS2002 and now FS2004.
These are only the sims I used frequently and There are a lot more I used on a irregular base. But I won’t type a complete book here. :p
Greets,

I heard that she has structural problems in the tail section. It was booked for Wings and Wheels in Ursel Belgium in August but this has been cancelled. 🙁 The owner doesn’t seem have a permit to fly the Buchon and he didn’t inform the people who are planning Wings and Wheels. So only one month before the show, the plane was cancelled. I am sad about this. I don’t think the Buchon has flown recently.
J.V.
Take al the time you need on that Buchon. The most important is that the rebuild is done with great care.
It will be nice to see the shape of a Me109 (buchon) in the air again. Here in Belgium, the rebuild of the Buchon OO-MAF has some ‘sudden’ technical problems and there are doubts that it will fly this year. Shame! 😡
Keep up the good work there at Breighton and thanks for those updates davski.

For some people its already a rare thing to see warbirds nowdays.
For the times I saw the start of a merlin or griffon, I didn’t see a lot of fire. But here in Belgium, you don’t see such planes often.
J.V.
That is the second pic of a SPIT-FIRE spit I see here. 😮 The other one was also from a Griffon powered spit. Great Image and thanks for sharing!

Sad news. 🙁
My thoughts are with the friends and famelies.
How many Lisunov Li-2 are still flying now. It is without doubt a rare type in the sky. I thought I saw elswere on this board that Archer made a ride in this type.
