And later that day, I went to Braschaat to see chipmeet. Around 12 chipmunks attended the event. They came from the UK, Denmark, The Netherlands and France. Here are some pics:
And Vormezeele flew in from Braschaat with this Stearman:
And Spitfire TD248 attended in its new sheme:
More pics of TD248 in its new sheme on this tread:
And a nice example of other vintage planes:
Also some other vintage types attended the event such as these 3 Harvards:
Some other biplanes types where lined up between the SV4: Look at these DH82 and Bu.131:
Sadly, some accidents happend yesterday. The wind blew a Tent into a line up of SV4 planes. After first inspection, only minor damage was seen at the prop of G-AYJB and some light damage at the tail of G-AYIJ. It was nothing severe.
A french registered SV4 had less luck and crashed during the landing and the wheels broke of. The plane had some severe damage but can be repaired. I heard the pilot descided to land on the grass during the final sequence of his landing but still hit the concrete. The impact was to heavy for the wheels and they broke of. 🙁 Best news is that nobody was hurt.
See the flying tent  :
TFL made a static appearance for one day at the Stampe Fly-inn during this weekend. They attended the event with two of their planes: The SV4c OO-LYR and DH82 OO-TGM.
Here the proof that they have been at EBAW:
I looked at G-info and there I saw that the Spitfire is owned by a Belgium company: SILVER VICTORY BVBA. Is that company a part from Historic Flying Ltd?

Thanks to Mark 12, I rushed myself to Antwerp for the Stampe fly-inn. I had luck because TD248 flew in and made a display.
Below you can see some photo’s of it after the landing this afternoon:
Other photo’s of the event may folow later.

When I was a kid, I had an Airfix 1:72 scale Typhoon, which was painted up as HF-L. Loved it. That’s why, very quietly, I’ve always had a bit of a thing for the Typhoon. But for god’s sake don’t let Snapper hear that!
I will be quiet about it. But did your model look a bit like the one you see below. It is a old Airfix-model which my father made some 30 years ago. As you can see it sustained some Battledamage when I played with it as a kid. 😮

Do you mean at the stampe fly-inn in Belgium today Mark 12?

The silver/red may look better, but doesn’t RN201 have that sheme. Two planes with the same sheme is too much for me. BTW, the silver sheme is more accurate on the MKXIV than on TD248.
I am pleased to see it has been painted in a wartime livery. How nice and accurate it is, that is for you to decide. For me, its a interesting change. 🙂

Thanks Roger. Looking at that beauty gives me a warm feeling. It is simply magnificent! 😎 I can’t wait until I can see that other stieglitz in full Argentine colours.
I hope Braschaat will give a nice show and I will let you know how it went!
Good luck at Hendon!
Thanks,
J.V.
Well,
So I guess it was’nt Dan fault after-all. Yes Dan fly’s for a living he is a Senior Delta Capt. and yes I would put my life in his hands any day of the Year.
I do believe that this guy is a good pilot and that he knows what he is doing. Display flying just is dangerous and a accident somtimes sit in a dark corner. And as bradburger says, if the pilot had made a large error, he wouldnt be flying any more. So lets say tricky weather made it a difficult job for the pilot to make this manouver.
And of course, I am glad you stayed here crazymainer. Its a forum on which we all can say our opinion and sometimes, you can convince someone else with your views!
Greets,
J.V.
