That is a act to ask for the right attention for Britains history MOTF. It is a noble tought. Maybe it is just time that the Uk filmindustry makes a big film about the subject with UK actors (as in the BOB-movie). That would solve a lot of your problems and plade all this in the right context. But I don’t think we will be seeing that in the near future.
Until then, I will watch the Hollywood version on the subject. All aviation films must be suported as Dez says. But don’t get me wrong, I de prefer a more realistic view on the event and not the classic american hero story (Deja-vu).

The one I would love to see in the air is the Gloster Gladiator from the Shuttleworth. I have seen it once during a visit to OW in 1999 but it didn’t fly that day. I just adore that biplane and I like the sound of a Bristol Mercury engine. I once heard that the sound from the Sabena Oldtimers Lysander.
I hope TFC can make good progress with their project to bring a Gladiator back to flying condition.
Yes, seeing a flying Gladiator would really make my day.

This sounds like the good old Hollywood again. Without doubt it will be a american patriotic story again. But if it is with fighters of WW2, it must be good.
I think I wil go and see it too.

It seems like they chose for the cheap and easy sollutions. The new monoplane at the end is even a Morane Saulnier MS315 isn’t it? That is sad because The Blue Max is a nice movie with flashing dogfights. Some good replica’s would even make a superb movie like this much nicer.

Yes, Thanks Mark12. 😮
Nice article!

Take a look at the homepage of the Super Constellation Flyers association. They are opdating their site with all the latest on the ferry flight.
See this link:

But no news yet on the flight to Manchester. I think they will post that on the site when it has taken place.

I don’t know about the SE5 replicas. But what I do remember from The Blue Max was that some Albatross fighters did look like tiger Moths. Why did they only make replicas for planes such as the SE5 and not for the Albatross. That would have been much nicer.
Thanks for those nice photos Laharve. I think you enjoy your new camera aren’t you! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Kenneth,
