Never heard of this movie before. I’ll have a look at MIDB to learn a bit more abot it.
It is the proof that a Fury simply can’t be ugly. It looks great, even in strange coulorshemes!
Thanks for the info Laharve.

Stieglitz
Wow! Nice selection of pics there Laharve. I didn’t know this Fury has had so many paintshemes. 😎
Why was it painted in Luftwaffe livery? Did it participate in a movie or something?

I think this tread has fooled more people after it was bumped forward than on the first of April.
You had my attention for shure at the start of this tread.
Goood one!

Interesting sheme there Oscar. 🙂 It’s something else for shure if you compare it to the more known metalic shemes.
Can anyone put my pic post on the WIX board? Tks…
Take a look there … 😉

It is a Jet provost Stringbag. Not a strikemaster. In 1979, Sudan (officialy) had 8 active Jet ptovost T52 and 3 active Jet Provost T55. Some more JP T52’s where reported to be stored at that point.
I couldn’t find any reports of Strikemasters in the Sudan Airforce in 1979.

1 Fury replica Europe (Holland or Belgium)
Belgium. Here is a pic (again :o) from this local based Hawker Fury replica which I have mentioned a few times before in several of my treads about the Belgian Flying Legends team.

Having been following the progress of this Lizzie over the past 18 months I have to agree with you Roobarb, the attention to detail and workmanship is simply stunning.
You are right there Merlin70. Thanks for showing me the way to building 66 on DX the other day. The skill and attention to detail is simply amazing. Those wooden wings shurely are a masterpiece. 😎
I do believe this lissie is well on its way to fly again.

That historical Fokker is a Beauty (you simply can’t say it enough … 😮 )! I hope that the Connie gets back to full force, but we can only guess how much €€€€ this is going to cost. I do wish the team all the best!

Stiggie – if you widen the next the Dutch Historic Flight have one, I beleive there is a C-45 airworthy in France (plus one under rebuild) one in Spain and Italy on the historic circuit
I already could see 2 french airworthy Beech 18’s, the dutch and the spanish one. 😉
Will post pix of Beech arrival -promise!

Nice to see the population of this nice vintage type growing in the UK. 😎 This bird isn’t so rare in the US but here in Europe they are not so easy to spot.
I do look forward to see some pics.
Greets,
Stiggie
Is it ever actually flown though? As far as I know, it has remained locked away in the hangar since being airtested, a smart move if self-preservation is at the top of the owner’s agenda.
Patience my friend! Don’t see all things so black and white. The owner hopes to fly this machine in the future. But as we all know, getting something historic in the sky sometimes takes a lot more time and effort than first expected.
She will be ready when she is ready! :p

Bloody horrible things, best left on the ground.
All the other 7 (yes, 7, a 100% accident record) which have been operated in Europe in recent years have suffered accidents of varying degrees of severity, and those in the USA haven’t fared much better.
It seems that with privately-operated ‘109s of whatever type, it’s not a case of whether they will have an accident, but when.
It is believed that the Vormezeeles Buchon OO-MAF is the only Buchon left in the world which never had an accident (during and after it’s service life). A strange accomplishment. OO-MAF is currently under long term maintenance.

Army Air Corps Historic Flight

Thanx PP!
Another great source. I knew there was still some great stuff there in the UK!
It flew, but it crashed/was damaged during a flight. It is now restored and inside the CV museum. I am sure one day it will fly again, but this will be a very ,very rare occasion. Looking for a pic later today.
Hmmmm. Sounds like a once in a lifetime to me. But it would be an amazing sight for shure! 😎
Stieglitz
I got some great suprises here chaps. Many thanks for those replies! 🙂 I didn’t know about the fact that there was a Wessex on the civil register.
Does the Army Air Corps historic flight have their own website?
Cheers,
Stieglitz
I think the T6 is the dutch based N13FY. If the plane would keep this sheme for some time, it would raise some eyebrows on local events.
Interesting filmproject! 😎
