Interesting. I didn’t know the russians had built this bird. Are there any survivors of the russian built variant?

It’s the ex-PoF, Chino example.
Yes, it is an original one with serial 111617! Thanks for the info. 🙂

It is simply a great plane. I don’t know what else to say. Wonderfull! 🙂
It’s the first I hear about that Me262 repro with the possible instalation of original engines. That would bring back a extinct jet sound! 😎

Great stuff! I can’t wait to see the first pics of the bird airborne after it’s paintjob! 😎

I think there are a lot of hidden treasures waiting to be found there! 🙂
If I take a look at the planes in the IAF museum, I find that they did a great job to represent the planes to the public. I know that there might be some faults ( for example the things that Daz pointed out about the spit), but remember that India isn’t as wealthy as a country here in Europe. Remember the last static spitfire restoration in the country. It didn’t realy look like a spitfire at the end. 😮
So my hat of for the staff of the indian museum and thanks for the pics Mark!

Good to see these planes are finding a new home. 🙂

Well said Rob!

It’s a good move to delete this function. It wasn’t used often and many members didn’t even know what it was or how to use it. Maybe a new rating system (which will cause less unclear and emotional situations) will replace the old one.

🙁
I was at an airshow in France where there was also a static show of aircraft. Each aircraft had its plate with info. Behind the plate of the VL Viima stood the Focke Wulf 44 Stieglitz and the unique Viima stood after the plate of the Focke Wulf 44. This mistake was rapidly changed once I had seen this. :diablo:
PS: I didn’t change the positions of these aircraft. 😉
PPS: The airshow comentator made the same mistake with these 2 aircraft during their flying display.

That’s right. If you restore it to a real Hatvard configuration, with the right pedals and a good old Harvie stick, you will have a more genuine feeling while you fly. And of course it is much nicer to look at. 😎

I have always liked the airshows at Ghyvelde in France. In the late nineties, they had 3 or 4 big annual airshows (the last one in 2001). But due to lack of public support (which resulted in financial problems), the event was resized during the last years into a small fly-inn. I find this a bit sad since they attracted great warbirds over the years such as Spitfires, Mustangs, T6/Harvards, Caudron, …
At the last eddition, the also had the fouga Magister, Antonov 2, Nieuport 17 and Junkers WWI repro’s, …
I felt a bit sad to see this show collaps.

Have a great day Buc! 🙂
