Wow! Nice stuff you scanned there Octane. I had never seen a pic of this bird before. It’s a joy to see what people can find in some old boxes.
Thanks!

The one which is currently being testflown is indeed owned by Tony de Bruyn who will operate it in Belgium when the testprogram is completed. But I’m not shure if he also owns the second one.

Terrible news …
As a young guy, I must admit I was a fan of Pavarotti. So I was a bit shocked to hear about his death. I knew he was ill, so the news didn’t came as a complete suprise. It makes me feel sad, but at least I have a lot of nice CD’s. His voice will stay in my memory forever.
Thank you.

Belgium’s Stampe SV4 biplane. A very good basic trainer and well known and respected on the acrobatic scene from the forties until the late seventies! Also built under license in large numbers in France.
Not bad for a small, militarily insignificant country as Belgium!:D

Is much of her history known?
Her history was researched by her various owners in the past. An overvieuw could be found on the RLM website.
But a short version of the history of this aircraft is:
– Built in 1937 in Germany
– 1938-1939: Around this period, this Stieglitz was shipped to Argentina to be used as an example to built the Stieglitz under license there. Around 15 german built FW44’s went to Argentina for this reason.
– It returned to Germany in the eighties and was restored.
– 1990-2003: Owned and operated in Belgium as OO-JKT.
– 2003-2006: To the UK for another restoration in the RLM workshop.
– 2006- :Privatly owned and operated at Old Warden.

Strange to say, but I realy like to see such unpainted warbirds. 😎 Thank you very much for taking and posting those pics while she was in her metalic colour.
But I’m shure the painters there in Texas will also do a good job.
Looking forward to see her in her new sheme.

Just a few questions about the Tempest Two’s Hawker Tempest II G-TEMT. After reading this tread, I conclude that this project is mostely completed and just waiting for its engine. Is this correct or is there still some other major work (except for the engine). Where is it’s Centaurus engine being overhauled?
Does Tepest Two have a website?
