Old Sarum was a good day out again. A dozen or so stalls with the usual mix. Traditionally a lot of selling between stall holders, with enthusiasts and public buying steadily all morning. There were quite a few wreck recovered parts, Mosquito, Martlet, Blenheim, Stirling (corroded cylinder head). Highlights for me were a hundred pound Hunter grip and an Apache cyclic. I went home with a much lighter car, but the proceeds turned into more portable items. Probably a result. No queues, lots of chat, and cockpits to sit in, can’t go wrong.
Aerobilia sale at Old Sarum, Wilts, tomorrow.
Thanks for the report, Fly. Buy. Glad there were things to be had. I’m looking forward to the Old Sarum jumble in a couple of weeks time.
Late night grammar. Fail.
I got this far, then swapped most of it for Harrier bits.
I didn’t have the scope to measure and couldn’t cut the hole! There will be lots of them cheap, the day after you spend too much on a real one…
Still a lot of Tornado and a very good start. Is that a laser cut MDF left panel off of eBay? Looks like my old one!
Last week I’d have needed to check references, MartynP, today I was building a stand for mine! What a coincidence. Here are three of the Century series. The F-101 Voodoo on the left is a standard B-8 grip, (as are the Super Sabre and Thunderchief), the F-104 Starfighter grip centre is a unique to type B-8. The Hydra style F-104 Delta Dagger is downright unusual. Of course the sticker book completist in me now wants an F-106 to complete the set.
Excellent, that’s an unusual one! A recent acquisition?
Subtle differences. On the right hand flying stick, the nose wheel steering buttons are on opposite sides of the trim hat. There are also fewer switches on the middle section. There are probably others!
Excellent result, I had to google the type. Certainly an interesting aircraft.
Very nice! Big aircraft, big panel!
That is an impressive collection! Do you have a whole museum? There seems a lot of stuff apart from sticks and yokes.
I think Wyvernfan has it. From the recent sale? One of the few reasonably priced items.
Where’s it going Cees? Museum or private?
