There was at least one Spit main spar peeking out, and another instrument panel. Lazy cataloguing though. List half of it in minute detail, then give up and sell the rest as a single lot.
At least it’s not going in a skip.
I’d imagine the collection of the late Ken Anscombe. The prices are likely to be ludicrous, but at least we get to see the lots. The Mk1 Spit panel is an astonishing reference.
Here it was! A fascinating website and possibly window shopping for restorers. https://ktsorens.tihlde.org/flyvrak/beverdalen.html
A lot of the aircraft could be seen on a Norwegian crash website, where it been recovered to a local farm. Certainly the wing spar.
Very impressive manufacturing Visotka1, 3D printing can make some complicated shapes. Your Beaver wheel is looking good, Swifter. Nice minimalist stand too. My only exciting recent addition is this early B-58 Hustler grip. I came entirely empty. The trigger is acrylic, the trim switch a ‘nearly’, it should be grey rather than black. The ICS thumb switch is the real problem, although still being used on Mohawks up until the 70s, I can’t find one. Attached is a Mohawk stick with the switch I’m after. Thanks for the link, interesting stuff!
With Newark next weekend I’m going to give Kenley a miss tomorrow. I’ll probably regret it but have been doing too much driving recently. I hope it goes well!
Amazing work! 3D printed handles? You will of course now find a real one for $50.
That is some very serious engineering! The machined shaft is particularly impressive. Will you need to mould plastic handles?
It isn’t in Sweden, but the right area.
I clearly spend too much time looking at bits of aeroplane on the net. There is quite a bit of it, but they won’t find any guns.
Hopefully these will help, Smirky. I tried fitting a selectric button in a Beaufort yoke, which gives some idea of scale. The yoke is the same as a Blenheim’s, at 37 cm wide. The selectric button should help with the scale. Good luck!
We came to a mutually advantageous arrangement. Martyn got things he needed, I got to spend less money! How did you get hold of it yourself?
You are the king of throttles, Rob! I’ve now got your F-89 Scorpion example, sitting well with stick and radar control.
