Nice photo Cotteswold. Would much rather be behind than in front of them!

Christies! That can’t have been pocket money prices. Nice pics, the finish on your KG12 is lovely, even if it has been nibbled by a shark:diablo:
My Gr1/3 Harrier stick was bought without history but had a bit of paper stuffed up the shaft with ‘front cockpit, XW925’. Unfortunately a 1989 fatality where the pilot ejected low and hit the ground. It may have been replaced prior to that as it doesn’t appear to have come out of a crash, or the river the Harrier finished up in.

75 shillings for a bomb sight computer must have been quite steep back then though?

That’s a fulsome collection of F4 grips Martyn. Anti kneecapping here on Mig 21UM. Front and back seats. Previously belonged to Flt Lt Harmer who had spent a bit of time in the Eastern Bloc judging by his personal effects which were turned out onto ebay. Sad.
The bottom half of your plastic KG12 finished up on the Mi15 grip, Tony. Shame to waste it! Would love a B52 yoke and yours is in such lovely condition. Always helps id when the name is in big letters across the front, too.
Flightpath, is that Harrier stick via Spitfire Spares? I used to lust after that one despite it’s Heath Robinson appearance. The Sidewinder mod, explained to me on this very forum, made a much more attractive grip. It also nudged Dunlop out in favour of Dowty.

More nice stuff. Fly.Buy, was that hand luggage from a Soviet holiday? Don’t see much of it over here!
Martyn, the grip is supposedly FG1, with a blanked of button due to the lack of nose wheel steering. It came with the knurled attachment ring, the base being bought separately in a job lot of books. The vendor was ex services and thought it was removed from Black Mike during an upgrade. It does have a single position trigger but I think the F4 give away is the lack of wrist rest on the side.
On a smaller scale the button is from Spit BM540, flown by 303 Sqn with some success before being given to the Yanks so they could join in with the war. The pilot abandoned it over Salisbury Plain and it is obvious from the condition just how hard it hit the chalk! The photo popped up in an Osprey book of Polish Aces, BM540 being closest the camera.

Love your Kg sticks sfp54, a valuable collection. Not really my area but is first left, second photo Hs129? The Lightning grips are all objects of desire. There will be a mis listing one day! Impressive selection of spade grips Banasplits, what a variety of additional buttons. Is there any more history with the Typhoon example beyond Kent? The P38 was lucky, listed in the States as ‘warbird grip’ and although more than I’d usually spend was cheap. I’ve never been so glad to see a customs bill as when it arrived. Liking your Russian stuff Martyn, there’s a Mig 25 grip around at the moment but too much. The Luftwaffe lineage is pretty clear there. That’s pretty conclusive Hurricane provenance Guy, even better than the Kenley labels with the details pencilled on the back! A very informative thread.

Nice! That’s a lot of engineering attached to a tiny little grip!

Lordy! Now that’s a collection! EE Lightning is something I’m sadly lacking. Same name, different era, I’ve posted this Lightning grip before but there is always room for another go…

****’s Hurricane was a brilliant weekend, drove straight from school on Friday and could see the barge bobbing in the Fleet. watching the spade grip dangling on the tooth of the digger bucket was pretty special!
Thanks for the extra pic Tony, the detail in a ‘mock up’ is impressive. I saw the production one on ebay and gave in. Nobody else bid. That said it is a terrible design. Compared to a contemporary F16 throttle it’s all over the place and very uncomfortable.
Banansplits, Wow! The column is astonishing but I must admit to liking your poster even more. If that could be reproduced full size it would form a veritable shrine in my study. It sets off the column superbly.
Rob, the Stuka stick looks to be a standard KG13, the only difference being a blank id plate. It is the correct size but plain black anodized. The top has been melted off so not sure about the rest of it. The ‘H’ trainer version had the innards of an Arado 96 cockpit grafted in, but the stick would give more of a Stuka feel than the plain wooden stick of the Arado. It is quite rare, there are no photos in existence of the Ju87H trainer at all!

That’s a very clean selection Tony, they all look unissued, not just the cyclics. The mock up is interesting, it’s nice to see the design process. A forum member with a regular aerojumble stall had three Tornado sticks in various states from rough cast to finished. Looked the business as a display.

Fully in favour of them Martyn! There are lots of loose B8s out there but having identifiable to type ones makes it. You’ve got quite a collection there, looking forward to seeing more! I’ll sort out some more dig ones in proper light although Fighterace has the pick of the dug grips.

You’ll just have to make do with the front one. Pop some photos of yours up, it’s a fine collection!

Thanks Martyn, that’s useful information. I’d suspected Mirage when the column arrived but didn’t know there was such an obvious grip difference between them and Jags. It’s a learning game! Your Canberra yoke is is quite special, certainly never seen one outside of a cockpit picture before.
