According to Air Britain, AN536 broke up in cloud near Foxton, Cambs, 9/1/42. It was with 90 Sqn and had previously been 40-2076. It’s a start!
Do watch the videos on youtube, the film is mixed perfectly. A mate saw them a few weeks ago and they back project the video.
Spitfire music vid

You’ve done an amazing job of straightening it out too. Looks excellent.
Glad it made it through the badlands, Elliott! Did you get that photo too? Looked very detailed.
Thanks for the pic, the bomb sight looks nice too. A well filled shelf!
Very nice, would love a peek left on that shelf!
Looking at the other forum links it force landed and was too remote for recovery. It is still sliding gently into the ravine. Looking it up, the B18 Bolo was a spectacularly ugly aircraft. It makes an Albermarle look like a sports car.
There’s a Shackleton yoke well down the page here, amongst some very nice others. The buttons and switches don’t look very British though?

Will certainly waste a few minutes, there’s a ‘for sale’ section too!
You’ll need a pair of those ‘Spitfire’ starter buttons then. Very nice find though.
Very nice Steve, you didn’t hang around with that one! Cables are a pain but it does seen a shame to chop them off. A cable tied loop and a tall block with the grip on top works but JDH’s box idea is best. Just needs proper woodwork skills and an even bigger shelf!
Sounds like someone is telling porkies then, Kiteflyer. It would take some serious cleaning to make a flash eliminator appear. Unless it was Aladdin’s Browning.
I was astonished at the final price of this bit of Spit…

Curious to see how much this BFP goes for:

The twelve gun Hurricanes certainly had flash suppressors fitted, GA drawings of the wings show them clearly. The rear mount also looks right for a Hurricane. The listing certainly doesn’t mention a deac certificate so perhaps it comes with a free five year holiday?
That really is a grim story. Poor bloke.
Here’s a rather grainy colour shot. I always imagined it was an allied practice having a bloke guiding from the wing, but with a nose like that… Also a bit of a C202, an air driven horizon. Not sure it was unique to C202s but can’t find a pic of it anywhere else. Any other bits out there? I seem to remember some labels coming from the Kenley dump.
