You just need a Norden to look through it with. Any other treats come back with you?
B29? very wall mountable. Beats the lousy T shirt etc.
Can’t help with the repair but would love to see a photo of the panel. Sounds interesting.
Yes, 42-5533 which was abandoned and crashed near Nantwich. Dug in 1986 or thereabouts and the engines and a lot of structure recovered. Re dug in 2006. Unfortunately it had burned in the crater for days and was mostly in very bad condition. Notable finds were throttle, radar controls, armour, canopy framing, oxygen bottles and engine cylinder heads. The landowner also gave me a prop blade from the first dig, which had unfortunately been stood outside for 20 years! Most of what was recovered Mr Northrop himself would not recognise.
After a holiday of Christmas obligations I managed to get something done for myself. Only a version 2 with tweaking needed. ASI is the wrong size and the DI and horizon crash into each other at the back, other than that it’s quite similar to a 1958 Vulcan B1, thanks to Jack Ruskin for all the info. Thoughts turn inevitably to the copilot’s side.
Here is my brief conversation with him. That said, if someone buys it without doing even a very simple check they might deserve what they get.
Dear vongold,
Nice grip but from a Harvard. Google AH2242 spade grip.

Strikemaster. And very nice to.
Here you go, none of that big Hollywood muzzle flash business either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PjLpqWFFEo
You’re both right, this pic shows the balance, not 109 at all.

What an amazing looking plane. Had never heard of it before. New facts for a new year, nearly.
That is an excellent resource. Thanks for posting.
Cheers Tony, that’s an excellent spot. I looked at a lot of Cessnas and Pipers but didn’t get there!
I’m on the lookout for a Blenheim brake lever, original or repro to have a go at this yoke. Link shows a left handed Bolingbroke example. Mine is right handed making an already difficult ask half as likely.

Multimap can’t find Foxton, but a real map shows it as the next village East. A bit more detail here: http://forum.armyairforces.com/Early-RAF-B17-loss-m134510.aspx
