Thanks, my pleasure.
European Coke is fake Coke. The US version is the only true Coke. You unfortunately have “New” Coke that was a commercial failure here in the States back in the 80’s
I think it goes back and forth between ORD and ATL yearly.
On the way out we had a funny comment by the ORD Departure controller. It’s common as you travel to the east over Lake Michigan to stay on the ORD frequencies for a while until they can climb you to an intermediate altitude. Well usually, as you can imagine, the frequency is busy with radio chatter as both ORD and MDW traffic depart through the airspace. For some reason it was dead quiet on the frequency that afternoon.
After what seemed like an eternity I checked back on, “Chicago, you still there?”
He came back quickly, “Yup, I’m still here.”
“Just checking, it’s sure is strange for it to be this quiet on frequency.”
“Yeah, it’s almost like Atlanta.”
😀 I got a real kick out of that.

Yes, they’re one of the new “blue chip” operators, catering for the needs of the well heeled. Popular with business executives and the like.
Is this one of those operators that has first class seating only?

The Concorde was a failure, though.
It met it’s design criteria. One can argue that the MD-11 was a failure by it inability to meet it’s design criteria.
Does this mean that “success” is dictated by numbers sold? This arguement was waged on another thread where it was stated that Airplane X was better than Airplane Y because more had been bought or operated. False. Airlines buy whatever fits their economic model. If a manufacturer gives an airline an outstanding deal on financing expect that airline to decide to go with their product.
Jetblue went with Airbus because Airbus extended them a 5-7 year maintenance deal as well as financing that Boeing wouldn’t match. Does that make the A320 a beter airplane than the B737? Nope. The number crunchers at the top could care less about the details of the aircraft only the $$ exchanging hands.
Ask any commercial pilot out there and they’ll have stories of the pieces of crap some airline they worked for operated.
I think the 764 suffers from poor timing. It entered service just before the largest recession in history of the airline industry. How could Boeing hope to sell a new model when their biggest customers were parking aircraft faster than one could count. Sure the 764 was made for CO and Delta but neither has been able to even think about new aircraft. Delta has been shedding fleet types and parking aircraft since 9/11. Continental has struggled but not nearly as bad. Now that they are back in the market with some promising growth on the horizon why would they buy a NEW airplane when they can go to the Arizona desert and pick up one for a fraction of the cost?
Even if things were to turn around even more a lot of airlines shopping for a 764 might hold off for the 7E7.

4. Privatair BBJ – heading over to the states no doubt.
Could this be a commerical operator? There is a 737NG with winglets that operates daily out of EWR to and from Europe (from what I’ve been told) with a similar livery. If I remember correctly it has a Swiss tail and a German registration. I’ve gone through my pictures hoping to find a picture of this jet but I didn’t find any.
Anyone else have any info?

@bmused: A Boeing-plane with only 2 civil operators is a failure. I dont think it make profit to make a aircraft where only a few have been made. Maybe to late?
Concorde?
