UKAR? I’m not familiar with that one, what is it? I’m mostly interested in the Hercs.
Are there any FRIAT members here then who could post a list of the units participating?
I think that’s a stupid move from the organisation then. People who are not a member of FRIAT still pay a lot of money to get onto the show so they should know what to expect.

Hey Mike, hope you don’t mind me posting that pic? Thanks for sharing the others!
How off-topic can a topic get?! 🙂

Sounds like me. Here’s my current one. A classic jet still in service. 😉
Re: BBMF – Coningsby Open at Weekends
[QUOTE](And there’s also Just Jane nearby at East Kirkby !) QUOTE]
Quite funny. A few summers back I was on a family holiday in the UK and visiting Conningsby after the RIAT at Cottesmore. (The weather was horrible so we left there early!)
I was having a look at some German Tornado’s and of course trying to see as much as I could inside the BBMF hangar from outside the fence.
After a while I started to chat with some kind old lady and she told me about East Kirby which I had never heard of and I enjoyed the visit very much. I would have been rather disappointed if I would have found out about the place later!

Thanks for your imput Damien. I didn’t mean to badmouth the owner of the museum it’s in. I was just rather shocked by this pic!
When I saw this pic today I immediately had to think of this topic.
Here’s the link to the pic on airliners.net:
Uhm it’s not like Luftwaffe F-4’s fall out of the sky on a daily basis. In fact the Belgian AF F-16’s that fly over your house probably are more likely to fall out of the sky!
Here’s a list of written off examples of both:
German F-4F’s are on the left.
37+02 FA06
37+27 FA07
37+51 FA08
37+56 FA11
37+59 FA12
37+62 FA13
37+68 FA14
37+72 FA15
37+73 FA24
37+74 FA29
37+87 FA33
37+95 FA35
37+99 FA39
38+15 FA41
38+19 FA42
38+22 FA52
38+23 FA54
38+35 FA59
38+41 FA62
38+52 FA63
38+59 FA64
38+65 FA79
38+71 FA80
38+72 FA85
And now the few extra Belgians to show the difference:
FA93
FA96
FA105
FA122
FB06
FB11
FB13
FB16
FB19
Now there were 175 F-4F’s initially of which 24 were written off.
There were only 160 Belgian F-16’s and still they managed to write off 33. That brings us to percentages of 13,7 for the Germans and 20,6 for the Belgians.
Hasn’t this one been in the museum at Seppe? They also have the remains of 109 that came down at Schiphol.
A pic from the spotterday at Kleine Brogel a few years ago… Wish I had a better scanner though.
Nice topic by the way!
Hmm a few that come to mind here immediately are:
-Saunders-Roe SR.A/1
-Messerschmitt 163
-Fairey Battle.
-Vickers Wellesley
Nice pic! Shame the Danes have chosen for the -30 version. Never really liked those as much as the short Hercs.
Well I’ve noticed the last couple of RIAT’s there have been far less Boscombe Down aircraft than there used to be…. They could at least send an Alpha Jet!
