Israel’s simple existence is offensive enough to most of the people in that region…

Israel is usually used as a convenient scapegoat for domestic problems, especially in cases like Iran or Saudi.
not too different than how China uses Japan or the US.

there’s news that China has cancelled 85% of Iraq’s debt to the country and that with the US influence decreasing, China is quickly taking its place
so perhaps in the end J-10 for China may be somewhat feasible after all as the country is heading down the path of Pakistan where the US will be Iraq’s daddy and China Iraq’s mommy, who’s not on talking terms with daddy but controls his wallet anyways and definitely controls the kid.

Is the PAK-FA that we know today just a Demonstrator and not the final product???

final product. there are five production models in active service with the Russian marines and one being built for the navy aviation. Because of the French deal with Mistral, the Pak-fa can also shoot MICA missiles, one of which was credited for a kill in the Georgian war.

    FLY NAVY:cool:

what if… they converted it from a ctol to ski jump carrier like the british do?
the catapults are only used for the A-4.
there you get to have your F-35B.

Well, the Ukraine like a number of other Baltic Countries are going to have to purchase New Fighters sometime in the future. So, considering I don’t know a lot about most of them. I was just wonder what direction they mite take in the future when selecting a New Fighter?????

Ukraine has a large air force that it doesn’t really need. 24 pak-fas down from over 100 flankers and fulcrums is probably cheaper and more capable in the long run. in fact they could probably retire their su-24s as well and just keep 24 pak-fas and a bunch of armed trainers.

the baltics have no fighter jets period.
why bother when NATO does the job for them.

Honestly, I don’t know much about Ukraine other than it was a former USSR Satellite and its relationship is somewhat strained with Russia like a number of other Baltic Countries. Nonetheless, what is its relationship with China and would they consider purchasing Chinese Equipment???

well if we had to compare with US foreign relations for your sake.
    Kazakhstan is Russia’s Canada
    Armenia is Russia’s Israel
    Azerbaijan is Russia’s UAE
    Georgia is Russia’s Cuba
    Baltics is Russia’s Guacamole

Russian gov’t and Chinese gov’t have good strategic relations
but at an individual level they’re not super best friends. in fact if they could sleep with other people they would.
you could say Russia and China’s relationship is like Bill and Hillary Clinton’s relation.

:very_drunk::stupid:::very_drunk: Lol, Ukraine is not trustworthy so Russia is not going to sell them any advanced military technology,I doubt Russia will even want to sell Ukraine Mig29M2 as if Ukraine continues its iratic behavior or decides to do something stupid in the future like join Nato then Russia might have to annex Ukraine by force in the future and take down its airforce :dev2:so selling them new planes that Russian VVS might have to combat is not a good idea.
Also Ukraine is going bankrupt now and in midst of massive financial turmoil, they will be lucky if they will be able to afford to keep 1 Mig29 and 10 An2 in service in 5 years

    2005 ended 8 years ago.

the current leader will not only bend over for Russia, but he’ll receive both Putin and Medvedev.

Ok, who do you see as a potential PAK-FA customer that could afford to purchase a respectable number of aircraft???

    why Ukraine of course

they can retire the 40 or so Flankers and 100+ (active and inactive) Fulcrums and consolidate around 24 Pak-Fa’s
then they’d be ready to take out Moldova and their covert ally Romania, and possibly Turkey

We all know the Typhoon looks best in those roundels.

Y-20 – I not sure that you can have “many” as a fraction of 4 (original suppliers) and I’m not biting.

if possible, three of the 4 would likely try to dump all their tranche one models.

now back to Canada.. this probably would’ve been very appropriate for them had politics been different

How did Iranian F-14A do against Iraqi Mirage F1, MiG-21, MiG-23 during the 1st Gulf war? Sadddam’s warplanes were still able to get a few Tomcat kills in the end, were they not – despite the long range of the AIM-54A missile?

    did pretty damn well.

Jalil Zandi shot down 11 aircraft in his F-14 which include Migs 21,23 and Mirage F-1 and Su-22.
Theres a few other Iranian F-14 aces with 6 kills.
I counted around 70-76 F-14 victories in Iran-Iraq war and 5 shot downs. ACIG claims up to 90.

Iraq’s positive kill aircraft is their MiG-25.

what can we learn from the Iran-Iraq war?
that all the cannon fodder aircraft “MiG-21, F-5, Mirage F-1, and MiG-23” were lighter fighters and were the ones being shot down more than shooting down.

i guess this threw a wrench in Spey’s theories as the Mig-25 and F-14 were the successful types.

    according to SIPRI,
in 2012 Iraq’s arms expenditure is 2.7% of its GDP
which places it between Sweden and Chile.
Since these two are relatively peaceful, the next closest expenditure is Greece which is in a semi-war state.

some of your suggestions for aircraft seem out of Iraq’s budget even with a rise in the economy.

I linked that in a post straight after hotdog’s starter lol

Apparently no one bothered to click the link

apparently the Philippines came out with a response today
neither confirming nor denying what went on with China and Korea
but stated that the T-50 is not intended for the Spratley islands.

however I can imagine PLA-MKII coming in and saying
“of course China has every right to protest, the Philippines is bringing in a stealth fighter!! can they even afford it?”
