I am six feet tall as well and weight in at about 230 pounds. Does this mean I might be a little squeezed in their seats?

I think you might be 🙂 if you are make sure you stick your legs out in the aisle 😀

Not that I’m being picky or anything, but you do realise it actually takes more effort to spell the word ‘of’ wrong than it does to spell it right, don’t you? Just use one ‘f’ and you can save wear and tear on both your keyboard and your fingers!

😮 Cheers Paul I always make that mistake it’s the same with too (to) aswel 😮 just say if I do it again 😉

James, Those people were over the other side of the airfield from the museum…I think BOH is pretty awesome for variety, with all the aircraft maintnance companies as well as the Pilatus sales base and of course the classic European 737’s, THO, and RYR aircraft The museum is well worth a look around, with some pretty interesting stuff (BAC1-11 / Herald) and the walkway that takes you through a hanager were they were maintaining the Red Bull Sea Vixen. Also like the Vanguard cockpit set up. Again Bristol is not bad but it can be death by orange sometimes with it being a large Easyjet base, it does get quite a lot of variety but you need to pick your times. The MNG F27s are currently relocated to Filton along with all the other mail flights due to work being carried out on the taxiways at night. It does have a really good resourse for finding out what is going on at the airport so you can plan when to go as well as snapshots of what is on stand (East Apron) at the present time, including to/from, Reg, and a/c type. I don’t know any othwe airport that provides this service.
Check it out here: http://apron.bristolairport.com/ click on the Mayflys and East Apron buttons.

    All the best Si

Thanks for info Must check that out the museum not been for ages and you get some good veiws from there:)

Someone was paying attention to that Red Arrows programme last night 😉

I think Mach 0.886 is typical maximum cruising speed in the VC10, not necessarily the structural maximum speed. Those Boeing figures are Maximum Airframe Limit speeds I guess?

lol I saw that programme very good wish they did one about the Blue eagles 😀 What luke said is true 😉

    Infratil’s July report for Manston-

July was KIA’s strongest month since acquisition with good specialised passenger traffic and strong freight movements.

Passenger numbers for July totalled 6,417. The World Airways flight series to and from the US accounts for roughly two thirds of the total, adding to the Kent Escapes
    program.

The new security measures apply equally at KIA, but have been easily applied given the low passenger throughput.

Total freight volume for July was 1,526,843kg – the airport’s best performance since the seasonally high months
of October and November last year. The 13 scheduled MK flights had seasonally reduced loads (strong growing season
in the UK reduces import demand). DAS Air had 8 movements, four of which carried freight, with the others positioning for minor maintenance. EgyptAir Cargo has also now started using the Airport with single flights in the first two weeks of August.

    😎

Great report there for Manston lets hope Infratil’s August report is even better 😎 I hear Egyptair are very happy with the Manston turn arounds is that true?

Cool. Still does not offer any info in terms of what a/c Monarch will use, but at least they have had the decency to provide a proposed start date…3rd May.

If these flights to the US from KIA are a success, does anyone think that Cosmos/Monarch might look to expand services to Europe? The reason I ask is because I know Monarch have quite a large operation out of LGW, and so I am not sure if it would be a viable option or not?

I personally think it would be great to see further expansion. Could definatley see services to AGP, ALC and possibly TFS going down well with locals.

Hi all back from me holiday it was great went to weymouth and saw BBMF Harrier G7 Whiskey Bravo and the red arrows it was great and the best day off me hoilday 😀 anyway back to topic I hope Cosmos/Monarch fly from manston next year be great .I also heard at hurn airport that Ryanair might move its LGW flights to MSE.
