thank you all for your kind comments and beutiful photographs,
TAYLORMAN- with you all the way on the F4U, my father flew it with the fleet air arm in WW11 against the japanese(ps there will be one at the breighton show this weekend if you want a close look at one)
manston airport yes the 52 is easy to fly -sort of point and go, but a bit fiddly with the prop and gills management for cylinder head temp and then there is remembering to put the wheels down at the end!. bit crucial on fuel management- only 120 litres and uses it fast, i only get about 20 hrs a year so mine costs a fortune per hour but the groups i know of with say 200 hrs get about £200 -£250 per hr,
if any of you would like a ride i am at breighton most sundays and it is @ £80.00 for fuel for 25 mins of full on fun,
    thanks again
    simon

Well sounds good I would like to own a YAK 52 one day and base it at nearby Headcorn Aerodromme 🙂 so how long can you fly a 52 for before its time to land again?

You don’t see many off the TFC aircraft flying at airshows why is that. And when did TFC P-39 last flew?

Could be one of the last chances to see BBMF Spitfire AB910 in this desert camouflage. I am told it will be repainted at the end of the season in a RAF Polish Squadron scheme, I believe?

Oh I liked her in the desert camouflage.Hope Peter Teichmann paints hi sP-40 in RAF desert camouflage colours.

    great pictures there aswell

Now, I know this isn’t a bird forum, but I have to tell you about this sighting I made last year.
I used to work in an office near Hatfield Forest and a year ago I spotted something hopping around my car wheels, it was a Black Redstart, couldn’t believe it, never seen one before and there are very few in this country.
Is tonight a special night for scarlet tiger moths then, me and madam are going to do a midnight observation of our local badger sett tonight, aren’t we sad, or perhaps not, natural species are worth thinking about, I have to make a fish pie first though.
Just to keep on track, the weather here is not good, whether it will improve for tomorrow at DX just up the road, I’m not so sure.

Well birds do fly 😀 Well that was a rare sighting hope you see badgers if not go to http://www.badgerbadgerbadger.com

Saw a Yellow Harvard between 4:00 & 5:00 I think its the Rochester based aircraft.
