this picture is I believe from turkey RSAF deployment. No heavy wingtip pods, big tanks, less powerfull engines, older g limited airframe. how it going to accelerate with Su-35/Su-30SM. They need to put Meteor on such platforms.
It is easy to say that given Russia has dropped comparatively so few PGMs during their time in Syria. Conversely, it would be hard to find a US platform that dropped an unguided munitions except for cannon rounds and perhaps some rotary launched rockets. Russia also isn’t flying anywhere near the sortie number and distance that the US are flying, hence does not need the coordination that the CAOC provides.
Those issues may make Russian air strikes in Syria easier to coordinate but it doesn’t make them necessarily more accurate.
Russia is carrying the most intensive and accurate air compaign in modern history. so many areas liberated without adequate manpower on Syrian side. All Arab world acknowledge it.
If Ruaf directly joins Iraki and Kurdish forces. you wont see Turkish plane again in Iraki skies and this whole ISSI thing will be in dustbin in less than a month. No one like this slow bombing that’s why this news are prominently publish.

if there’s an helicopter in the area, the group will detect in and scatter
there will be smaller UAVs that will be observing the area that are quieter and numerous. some of the group of fighters will be taken out by artillery/MLRS and other scattered on by helicopter machines guns and rockets that can engage hundreds of targets.
Sweden should offer 40-50 Gripen E and sharing of Erieye ER with Sweden. Gripen E + Erieye ER would be a very powerful system; by co-operating the AEW (similar to what NATO countries do with AWACS) costs would be shared. Win-win since the Swedish Air Force would be very interested in upgrading their Eireyes to the ER standard.
Protected by Gripen E w. Meteor, the Erieyes would not be that easy to shoot down.
I am not sure why put Meteor some kind of magic weopon. its more than 30 year old programme. not even Nato member like Turkey want to integrate to F-16. they surely need long range AAM since F-16 is operationally limited platform.
There is no Meteor on UAE M2K. its the weak platforms that need strong weopons.
I said value. look at my statement. These drones require long runways and carry small payload and are very slow to battlefield. it is lesser priority for Ruaf.
the newest MLRS with pinpoint accuracy can strike targets sooner with greater blast radius. while swarms of smaller UAVs that are difficult to detect and shot provide real time intelligence.
Europe also rely on Soyuz. and without Middleast most of EU arms industry will close the shop let alone going into new fields.

Named for the astronomer who pinpointed Earth’s true position in the Solar System, the Galileo satellite navigation system that will help Europe find its way in the 21st century now has 14 satellites in orbit after today’s double launch.
Galileos 13 and 14 lifted off together at 08:48 GMT (10:48 CEST, 05:48 local time) atop a Soyuz rocket from French Guiana.
The F-35 is going to be safe no matter what. The US Congress strongly supports it and in our system of government that makes it essentially impossible for a president to kill it. Besides, Trump has already shown a willingness to change his mind on things… sometimes several times in a few days. Just because he said he would kill the F-35 doesn’t mean he actually would if he got into office and the services explained what that would mean.
Obama its not interested in individual products but his policies put sequesteration. If Trump look at individual product and its is not Made in USA despite US paying 90% of cost that is practically automatic cut. President is all powerfull once in office and only he can decide the war or withdrawl. Congress is rubber stamp as most of congress have old members from 20 to 30 years. President can easily find wrong doings in them and send them to jail.
Why would you say that he would cancel/cut the F-35.
Despite what he has said about it, when he comes into office, he’ll get a “come to Jesus” meeting about the global threats, the true status & cost of the F-35, and what the alternatives are.
Obama got the same talk about terrorism and guess what, Gitmo is still open for business 🙂
Trump claimed he wont listen but impose his decision. alteast he will make F-35 100% US made. I don’t see how F-35 survive in current industrial form and with budget pressure that will simply multiply.

THAAD has not been offered, nor did India inquire about purchasing the system. There was some interest in the PAC-3, India was briefed on the system and participated in some BMD simulations with U.S. That was as far as it went.
Addition- I don’t believe there is a contract in place for the purchase of the S-400 system by India. There has been talk for the last two years. Anyone know the status of this?

Exactly, Vietnam is not interested in anything but retired F-16s. It’s not only cheap but they’re looking for new non-Russian way of operating. They already have pilots heading State side now. It’s important for them to diversify away from exclusive Russian vendor as Russian reliance on China may grow at the expense of relations with Vietnam.
correction. it is not Russia reliance but China reliance on Russia that is growing. If I am reading twitter correctly with in two to three years Russia will be able to completely block all energy supplies from Middleast and Africa. and can successfully implement complete no fly zone for Air
traffic among EU/China/Middleast. that’s why Persian Gulf and Israel doing separate bargaining with Russia and Russia Eurobond sales can succeed even with sanctions.
China weak political & economic system , dysfunctional R&D simply cannot allow it be leader.
these practically expired helicopters if they are there. they will be replaced with new. The key is to stay in Syria and manage war in way that wealthy Arab transfer money to Russia.
