If you have one Su-35 emitting only, and sharing the picture with the other Su-35, flying with their emitters off. If that Su-35 is also jamming; now if the jamming is effective this could cause some issues for the F-35; they can easily detect the emitting Su-35. But how can they detect the silent Su-35s without using their radars? IF the F-35 radars are successfully jammed then they would not be able to find the silent Su-35s until they get at “IR detection” range.
However jamming the F-35s will probably be very difficult, in particular jamming all of them.
Su-35 certainly has more thrust and can fly higher and futher. so its radar range and jamming will be more effective. Stealth planes are heavier and draggier so they need external tanker support. those tanker highly vulnerable. The function of gigantic radars is not search fighter but to find make shift airbases and provide mid course updates to missile strike with Iskander and Club.
I think same conclusion has been reached by Saudi after launching thousands of sorties on Yemen. they want Iskander missiles. Those sorties simply cant happen against modern airdefense system.
Wrong, calculating for given range gives us 0,00062 sqm RCS for F-35. Yet Another BS; No stealth aircraft can maintain such average frontal RCS.
IRBIS has 400 km range vs 3sqm target, that gives 96 km range aganist 0,01 sqm target.
that range is for export Su-35. i full expect Su-35 to lock on at excess of 300km to exploit RVV-BD range
Correct.. except the Russian consumer goods industry is pretty much non-existent.. It makes me wonder how can they produce hi-end AMLCD displays @ Ramenskoye but cannot get together a decent TV set which could be sold worldwide..
they can make it but it global sales and marketing that need big investment and time. which is simply unprofitable. You cant compete Samsung plants built in Vietnam, Thailand, China. there is many countries just look at Canada. Does it make every thing for Bombardier CSeriers. Russia should only concentrate on weopons, Civil airlines ,trains, buses. only on public transport side.

You’re right.. they are doing just fine 😮
Unless you show me there central bank balance sheet, credit to consumers, both liquid and illiquid assets buying by foreigners. Firms , education.and agriculture dependency on foreign labor. decline of education system. All this thing can contribute to dysfuctiinal state that is unable to take right decisions. This 5% decline is meaningless number .
It’s not just exports
But application of military power (it need self sustaining industrial complex all the way from raw materials like rare earth) that attract sovereign wealth funds. France has to think about Airbus customers and there routes that’s why it return money relative soon for mistral.
It’s tentatively scheduled for Block 4. I say “tentatively” because at this time there is no “official” Block4 list of features but Meteor is on the latest graphic of Block 4.2 or 4.3 potential upgrades.
Current experience has shown that the VLO of the F-35 is VERY robust and relatively easy to maintain, especially in relation tot he F-117, B-2, and F-22.
That’s your opinion.. What makes you think the maintenance for the SU-35 will fair any better considering that their economy is in the middle of a tailspin brought on by the downturn in global oil prices that was just exacerbated by China’s devaluation of it’s Yuan?
Russia is trade surplus country like Germany, Saudi, China, Korea with even better low debt and low unemployment with ownership society of housing. It doesnot need go to foreign bond market. Global warming is making it better. I think they are going to spend even more on military than any one else. discouraging imports.

Only 48? That seems awfully low.
Any news on orders for other aircrafts like MiG-35’s or more Su-30SM and Su-34’s?
edit: Ah, so they are going the same route as they did before, just order same number from previous order. I see. Probably safe/easy bet.
They may want have flexibility in production slots for export.
There’s no goodwill involved.
The UAC gets massive aid from the gov over the years, loans and other times essentially free money, to modernize facilities, invest in modern infrastructure, etc.
I think it is pointless to look at contract money alone, it doesn’t take into account government financial guarantees to the big defense employers.Defense is a huge money hole, even if you buy mostly domestic.
Defense is money hole?. Where you get this idea.
so the ruble price went up 50% in span of 6 years? Even though the initial contract was the period where production line was being worked in and when most planes are at their most expensive point?
Have really all the prices in Russia (milk, bread, average wages, etc) gone up 50% during the same period?
It is the labor wage growth that is driving. In 2009 knaapo output was zero Superjet and T-50. now Su-35 has to share production with them. Plus there will be improvments in sub assembly components.
you can see F-18E example at its tail end its getting more expensive for additional units. now approaching $100m fly away.

The additional $1,150.0 million added to the Senate authorization for the additional 12 F/A-18E/F aircraft unfunded requirement is not required” according to the appeal.
F-35 is superior to any Russian fighter and it will trash any fighters coming from Russian without any problems. Russians don’t have to worry about Finnish air force as long you guys don’t try any Ukraine style nonsense with us… otherwise scrap collectors will have field day when they collect those MiG-29 and Sukhois littering the Northern Finland.
Russia will deal much differently with Finland/Norway/Sweden than Ukraine. Russia want to suck productive population from ukraine for its own economic so it slow moving economic stagnation of Ukraine. there is no such compulsion with Finland. Infact it will be the demonstration of newest weopons in overhelming quantity as Russia will be using this as sale pitch of these weopons and operational power to Middleast.
AL-31 is 1.60.

Engines are designed for aircraft. if Aircraft has larger fuel capacity it can use much more afterburner. Su-35 carries more than Su-27.
I’m puzzled why Russia never sold Syria Mi-28s. Seems just what they need against ISIS.
There is production constraints. Iraq is more important due to protection of Oil. i think if Iran gets money. there is big opportunity for Russian weopon sales to Syria.
infact lower oil prices will make even the rich arab poor that they will only afford Russian weopons to fight endless wars.
Yes you are right the entire inventory of Western airforces is no match for the Russian airforce. There is nothing they can pitch against the super fighters of Russia. Russia perfected an advanced aerodynamic layout in the 70s and keeps on adding the most advanced avionics to these fighters which west have no hope of ever matching.
I would expect this level of delusion only from the North Korean ministry of information.
Uncompetive Tornados and EF has no chance against modernized Flanker.
you don’t need bomber in vicinity for surprise. Flankers have enough range that it can be based from 1000km away for strike. there is big likelihood that if Finland waste money on expensive fighters it will have far less money for operational tempo and airdefense. big surprize land attack club from diesel electric subs.
Finland not competitive country could not maintain Nokia let alone having smart verstile defence industry.

stationary objects on the enemy territory (administrative centers, weapon and fuel depots, force control centers, sea terminals, air-fields etc.) – by land-attack missiles (3М-14KE).
If the fact that the Su-30 is only a souped up 70s fighter plays the decisive role for you, then the Su-35S won’t be any better than that.
Sure, F-15SA vs Su-35S, that would be a clash of the titans.
I still expect Su-35 to fly faster and higher than overweight F-15SA which is much closer to F-18E in performance. In order to get long life from airframes Boeing jets are really get heavy with underpowered engines and small internal fuel capacity.
