Each production batch extends to beyond a calendar year but unless there is a delivery delay the period of production is still 12 months (usually switching the batch around the middle of the year). So LRIP 10 production contract may be 129 but that Calendar year may see less F-35’s produced because the first two quarters will be producing LRIP9 jets and LRIP9 is not as large as LRIP 10. Once the full rate of production is stabilized and sustained there would be that many deliveries per year

The 3 year limit (batch) is there because of the current US procurement laws whereby they cannot enter into a formal multi-year procurement until the product has matured further, so they are planning (see the pre-solicitation notice) a combined block buy for now until the necessary approval is granted for them to enter into a formal multi-year procurement contract like the Super Hornet.

how Norway and Australia knows price of JSF between 2020 to 2023. when production order limit is 3 years from 2017 to 2019. i have doubts on these production figures when most internatioanl sales are post 2020. by time SAM technology will advanced enough that better save money for 6 generation fighter.

M’kay… How many IFR capable fighters do the Iranis even have? And their ol’ F-4s dont even have the probe IFR system do they? (i.e not compatimble with Midas). And where the hell would the Russians get 100 Il-78s from??
Sputnik News… u got to love it. 100% quality in everything they “report”.

why they have to announce fighter deal?. Let Iran gets the money first from banks and increase oil-gas production . Russia will be biggest beneficiary its only country that can supply fuel , food and military to continue Syria war for decades. Very good investment in IL-476

There has been some scepticism expressed on the forum with regard to the F-35’s production rate, which according to critics would never cross 150/yr. Just an update with regard to the bulk purchase that the JPO is currently working on :

    Production order by year –

    2017 – 129
    2018 – 172
    2019 – 176

    Production order by variant –

    F-35A: – 386
    F-35B: – 69
    F-35C: – 22

    Total: 386+ 69 + 22 = 477 (delivered between 2019 & 2021)

Production order does not mean you are actually buidling that many per year. otherwise why limit to 3 years.

A new Su-30SM for Russian AF went for 1.86 bil RUB, which was approx. $47.3 mil at that time. Today it’s less than $33 mil. Given the amount of French and Indian content in the Su-30SM I guess the price in rubles must have gone up.

Indian/French content is less than 10%. so it shouldnt impact the price much. i think Su-30SM is way cheaper than Su-35.

Delighted by the performance of RC I and RC II, Irkut Corporation, Russia has confirmed purchase of 34 sets each of RC-I & RC-II for Russian Air Force requirements from HAL with delivery to begin from January 2014 onwards. The value of the contract is USD 12.2 million. At present, these radar computers are manufactured at the Kasargod unit of HAL, which was recently inaugurated by defence minister A.K. Antony.

Yeah, you know better than the heads of ODK, right? And Klimov, right?

You have made a complete ass of yourself of the engine issue. Not to mention you made claims how Russian factories would be pumping out hundreds of fighters yearly. How’s that going?

Everyone on here knows by now, you are a moron in the extreme.

There is no poster on here worse than you.

did they stopped production. they are making each more than the previous year.
Klimov is shifting RD-33 production to another site. so whats big deal with helicopter engine. Provide the financial statements of Motor Sich how many engines they can produce now?. Its all talk from 2014. even the 5 year agreement finishes in 2016.

LRSB highly doubt it. unless US manage to produce single party president and congress for 24 years. remember the big thing they are pushing for JSF is that it is international and allies involved. US has to buy the JSF on time so it can be cheaper for allies.

Borisov says due to Tu-160M2 plans, PAK-DA is being pushed back from the 2023 timeline. Don’t even know what to think of this Tu-160 scenario now, might it actually be happening….

Yes they are. Because there are simply no other sources for them. We would have airframes piling up without engines.

Have you read the last few pages of the thread? ODK explicitly said, they are, and they will continue to import engines from M-S.

Klimov does not produce enough engines for the helicopters Russia makes, there is absolutely no getting about that. Even if we use their planned numbers, which in any case were not met.

M-S is getting by the ban because they claim civilian use (Mi-8s) and export orders.

so you believe on every statement made and not use your own brain.

This Putin said in dec 2012 and exactly opposite happened.

“We are not that preoccupied with the fate of Assad’s regime,” the Russian president told a press conference

I doubt you even understand that Ukraine is no condition to manufacture engine.

$1.2b is total value of the contract Divide by 5 equal to $250m a year. which at most 100 engines a year worth 50 helicopters.

Why should the biggest producer of civil helicopters, by far, merge with the second biggest? They’re not dependent on the European market, & far less dependent on military sales than US, Russian or Chinese producers, much better at exporting civil helicopters, & less dependent on government investment. Looks to me as if the conditions you describe favour them.

EU rise in helicopters are directly related to rise in Oil prices that led to sells in Gulf countries, Canada, Brazil, Norway, Turkey. This is not sustainable.

That is a better clarification but I don’t agree, aside from weight the Mangusta and Tigre are perfectly competitive and do compete with the Apache and Mi-28.

Mangusta and Tigre are highly uncompetitive and practically obsolete. low production ratestes. India which invites just about every one for competitons dont even invite them. EU is also heavily losing on heavy to medium weight helicopters. and has very low production rate

power and weight is directly related to protection level, weopons, performance and electronics in helicopter. It is like comparing Gripen to Flanker.

Alot of statements are disinformation. i am 100% certain that Ukraine cant make any helicopter engine now. it has to import that 80% parts and they cant pay market based energy cost to run factory and deal with fleeing labor and falling wages.
Look at there monthly industrial production.

    http://www.kyivpost.com/content/ukraine/fall-in-industrial-production-in-ukraine-slows-to-207-percent-in-may-391418.html
The fall in industrial production in Ukraine in May 2015, compared to the same period in 2014, slowed down to 20.7 percent from 21.7 percent in April and 21.1 percent in March, the State Statistics Service has reported.

So which factory in Russia is making them, then?

Russian factories are multifunctional. They can built any where and no need to disclose. new RD-33 factory example from 2016.

    http://www.oboronprom.ru/en/news/we-have-been-working-consolidate-industry-over-past-four-years
When are you going to sell the Chernyshev MME site?

    — Production of the RD-33 engine should continue in a new integrated configuration from January 1, 2016 onwards at the Salut Moscow site (components and parts), UMPO site (components, parts, assembly and testing), and the Salut Omsk site (repair kits and repairs for RD-33/RD-93 engines).
    Will Motor-Sich join UEC?

This would hardly make sense. We have already set up production of the VK-2500; moreover, we are the designer of this engine. The D-436 is a very small series. There is integration potential only for the D-27 engine which is installed on An-70 transport aircraft.
    — How is the implementation of the Import Substitution Program going at Klimov?

—An initial engine comprised of all Russian parts was assembled and delivered for long tests on December 18, 2012. Around 50 units are scheduled to be manufactured this year, and we expect to be able to bring production output of VK-2500 engines with only Russian parts and components to 500 units a year by 2015. So, the enterprise is expected to meet the engine requirement of Russian Helicopters in full by 2016.

There has never been production increase in UKraine all the way to 2004 orange revolution. They simply cant afford it in best time. There is zero percent chance of they building engines with 60% inflation rate and complete collapse in import/export trade.

    http://neweasterneurope.eu/articles-and-commentary/1502-rebuilding-the-engine-of-cooperation
In 2006-2008, for example, approximately 80 per cent of parts (excluding electronics) and 38 per cent of materials for production used by Motor Sich came from the Russian Federation

Only Russia can innovate in that area and disclose its own time.

Baloney. Do you enjoy just making things up?

Most Russian helicopters, for export and otherwise (like Mi-8 family, Mi-35, Mi-28 and Ka-52 until very recently) need TV3-117 engines, and they still source most of them from Ukraine.
In 2012 for example they sent over 450 TV3 and VK-2500 engines to Russia, and production has most certainly not caught up to match that number.
In 2013 Klimov planned to make 50 “all-Russian” VK-2500s, they only ended up making 10. I have not seen any reliable figures on what they managed to produce in 2014.

Oh and what do you think new Mi-26T2s fly with? ………………….D-136-2. Where are those made? Not Russia.
For that matter, all of the new Mi-26s that Russia has received in recent years had older D-136s that were also from Ukraine.

did you went inside factories how many engines Ukraine making?
dont believe on any report. Ukraine does not have capacity to make even a single engine in past 1.5 years. So where you think those engines coming for all the helicopter built now?
when you have this level of industrial decline there is no chance of tier-1 supplier existence let alone workers fleeing. You cant assemble engines with these wages.

I am more amazed that the crew actually managed to “eject”. Tu-95MS doesn’t have ejection seats, it has a weird bail system.

And FYI ijozic if it was Tu-95MS that crashed (and not Tu-142) then that Tu-95MS is newever than many F-16 and F-15’s. Tu-95MS was produced from early 80’s to early 90’s and most of the MS’ that are operational are probably from late 80’s. They aren’t nearly as old as people like to think they are.

EDIT; 3 has been located so far, one of which is dead… There was 7 crew in total, Tu-95MS indeed. A second plane (another Tu-95MS?) could visually see the crew bailing out and parachutes opening.

You cant compare it with F-15/F-16 as Soviet Union never designed these for 30 years operations.

United Engine Corp plans for 2015:
    -521 engines for military aviation
-60 serial VK-2500 (big question mark here, I have yet to see firm numbers for how many all Russian VK-2500 were made in 2014)
-Testing of the PD-14 on the Il-76LL will start in October. The 7th example of the engine will be used
-18 PD-14 will be made for testing purposes
-Serial NK-32s are planned to be delivered at the end of 2016

helicopter engine is relatively low tech when russia can make Yak-130 engine in less than a year without Ukraine. all Mil helicopters currenty in production and export are using Russian engines.
