Superb photos, just love the Reds and Eagle Squadron.
Well done.
love the eagle squadron…..
Airliners.Net has it as “G-BLPG / 16693 cn3395. its also quoted it as Austa J1-N Alpha. Does that mean that this example is a replica or hybrid rebuild.
Nice shots Flygirl, looks like weather was kind as well……
good photos, my fav is the tristar on approach….
Like “Old Git”, I have also been to many shows, keeping mobile does seem to be the sensible option but the crowd line is being squeezed by the corporate enclosures so if you want to be at the front of the rope, an early arrival is a must. Enjoy it all the same. I am thinking of heading north this year and going to Waddington, participation list looks excellent this year.
Thanks Fly Girl, I have to agree with Moggy, I’ve been to a few now and they just get better and better, It’s a great way to open the Airshow season with a relaxed atmosphere and the organisers and helpers are the best I come into contact with.
Always something to do and there is no twenty deep crowd lines to cope with. Looking forward to next year already.
Couple more shots to share with you but that’s it, promise….

Speaking to colleague at work. Was there a crash at Middle Wallop Airshow around 1976. hospital at Odstock may have been involved.
Have searched for any info and come up with nothing. Anyone out there able to add info for me…..
Anyone remember the Spitfire Diamond Jubilee Show in 1996.
Weather was breezy if I recall but Duxford closed the gates at 12 as the airfield was full up. Can only remember this happening twice in my years attending. Posting photo of back page of programme.

Think this should be prob “Before the show”. Anyone remember the BBMF Hurricane nose over when the undercarriage collapsed. Think June 2004 is correct.

From another who was there.
Can’t believe it was 20 yrs ago….
I was on the Photo Bus going past the C-130 and can remember the panic on the bus when the aircraft was heading towards us. I stayed in my seat watching aircraft come towards me thinking my time was up but funilly did not feel frightened. I closed my eyes and heard a loud crump and can still remember the terrific heat on my face. I opened my eyes and saw people climbing over each other to get off the bus. I can then remember that I could not stop my legs from shaking and started to Laugh at this. Silly what you can remember as happenning 20 yrs ago still feels so fresh in your head.
Yes, quite right Chris. Use to feel the time warp sensation myself when visiting Dx Shows.
Loads of fantastis memories of the old shows come back from reading these threads…..
Anyone bumped into the German Luftwaffe Staffel Capatain weilding the Swagger Stick.
I also remember that at the end of the airshows the commentary team would thank all the “Little People” for their efforts. The resoration crews, the cadets, the litter pickers. one of the only places that these people got an applause (as one of the little people at the time it meant a lot).
