yea from what i know they were broken to spares which were then sold on to an American company – half of it is probably flying with ATA somewhere!
i’ve got a pic of her somewhere i can upload of her at LBA…
Tristar… more commonly known as Tristar!!!
Bristol has F70s, we at Leeds have 3x F100, Supplimented by a FK50 1x Daily, used to be a FK70 last summer
very clever!
yea more of less Softlad – 14 has a slightly higher approach slope – i believe he came in high and fastand touched down near the 09/27 intersection.
btw Pembo, Tristars aint too big for NM really – we get DC-10 and B747 movements every now and again – usually when LUFC are in Europe.
best i can remember was an EI A330 training – his first stop was LBA and he was going to head up to Prestwick after to bash the circ for a couple of hours, so he prob had 3 or 4 hours fuel on board which i didn’t think would be a problem. Neway on finals he captain didn’t look very impressed and said we’ll never put her in there, they did in the end, but he had his doubts!
LH sounds the most likely – or an old bmi one?
i’d love to try the Barra one – the photo at Lerwick is a good one with the Belfast! – must have a decent length Rwy then!
A330 – nice to see somebody read an educated paper such as the mirror like myself! – cheers for the correction
i hve some good photos from Tenerife when we were inbound with a cloud ring around it – but from the side – not quite as drastic but still impressive
heres a few
1. B717 has “eyebrow windows” above the cockpit – F100 doesn’t
2. F100 Has “clamshell” airbrakes and thrust reversers whereas B717 doesn’t have wither in clamshell format.
3. B717 has deflection bars on the nosewheel fitted as standard to the rear, F100 doesn’t
to be fair i never even thought about that! I presume that it could be a little too large to replace the 50s n 70s, but not the 100s – but again there would be no fleet commonality with the rest of the fleet
Astraeus – they were the transun day trips, also the 5W flights are the scheduled ones that come in on a Thursday from Malta
gud job! – i’m piled down with c’work – but as you can see every now and agaibn i get… errr… distracted!
wasn’t it a bmi 321 at LHR not Austrian?
yea nice un – wonder where the replacement grey cowling on the engine has come from
cheers for that DCFLY. That was the prime example of the slow concorde that had speed restrictions on it due to the heat and no white paint syndrome!
