hi wys – thanks for the interesting read! – oh well i’d have come to see you at GCRR if you were going to pop in!
interesting that Wys – wasn’t it BCal that had a special hanger built at LGW with a moving DC-10 patform to work on the centre engine?
Greekdude – the september 11th attacks weren’t blown out of proportion, and i dont intend to go into my political views on here, but as the wordls only superpower i believe the United States can hype up media publicity at times to back up some of its foreign policies, and at other times play down acts which have the opposite effect, as all nations do. But in this case the fact that a light aircraft crashed into a building made headline news on BBC News24 and Sky News on the day of itsoccurance – but a crash at Humberside a week ago in which a C421 crashed and killed the student pilot on his exam leading to an airport closure for 24 hours hardly even makes national news coverage.
Just out of interest and i honestly dont know – where is Reuters based as this is basically the standard controller of most world news coverage?
looking good – i like this liv on the Rjs especially – looks real smart!
Yea also Wys are you down for an ACE run this next week – presuming i’d be thursday if any?
i believe shes gone through that menopause thing now!
one market i reckon it could do well in is if it got a large contractor for maintenance and re-painting for the big leasing companies – isn’t Lindkopping in Sweden primarily a maintainance field as well as the home of WestAir
hi martin – we look forward to having another opinion on the forums!
well its differant!
hiya
yea in days gone by Airtours (now MyTravel) wanted a big facility there, but pulled out there support a couple of years back! Ryanair again could be a big one – they fly to Leeds (3/4x daily)and Teeside (1x) from dublin – and thats it this side of the pennines! Nearest Locos are bmibaby at EMA nad Je2 at LBA in any real presence – then you are talking LIV and NCL (both Easyjet)
sounds like someones been having fun!
it’s a very bland c/s – they started ops last summer. One of the a/c is a B737-301 which is and ex America West a/c (EC-IFV) which i saw in TFS last summer – i believe they have 2 B733s 0- they’re gonna commence ops to LBA as well this summer
Leeds’s winter flights went down to 1x daily on a Sat at one point two – not as many buisness pax is the main reason – slots congestionand a higher summer a/c utilisation due to summer weekend charter services offered by the mainline fleet is prob the main reason – ie you F100 has to sub for an A320/1 which is operationg from a regional airport on the sun runs
hi wingflaps – cheers for that – where u been for so long?
